The cutting insert further comprises a convex side. The cutting insert further comprises a flat side. The cutting insert further comprises a top cutting edge which is formed where the convex side and the top surface meet, and a bottom cutting edge which is formed where the convex side and the bottom surface meet. The cutting insert further comprises a hole extending from the convex side towards the flat side. The hole is positioned at a center of a surface of the flat side.
Tool for machining a workpiece
Tool for machining a workpiece, comprising: a holder having a first internal coolant duct; a cutting insert having a main cutting edge; a first fastening element for releasably fastening the cutting insert to the holder; a plate-like coolant guiding attachment having a second internal coolant duct; and a second fastening element for releasably fastening the coolant guiding attachment to the holder. In the assembled state of the tool, the first internal coolant duct is fluidically connected to the second internal coolant duct and the coolant guiding attachment covers at least a part of the cutting insert. The coolant guiding attachment comprises a first opening, which is configured as a recess or through-opening and allows access to the first fastening element, such that the cutting insert is separately releasable from the holder by releasing the first fastening element even when the coolant guiding attachment is fastened to the holder, and the coolant guiding attachment is separately releasable from the holder by releasing the second fastening element even when the cutting insert is fastened to the holder.
TURNING TOOL FOR METAL CUTTING
A turning tool includes a tool body, insert seat and a turning insert. The turning insert has a top surface and an opposite bottom surface, a reference plane between the top and bottom surfaces, and a center axis intersecting the top and bottom surfaces. A circular cutting edge of the insert is concentric in relation to the center axis. The bottom surface includes a set of radial grooves and a set of flat surfaces. The flat surfaces extend in a plane parallel to the reference plane. The insert seat includes a bottom surface and a rear surface. The bottom surface of the insert seat has a first ridge and a support surface, wherein at least one of the flat surfaces of the turning insert is in contact with the support surface. A cross-section of the first ridge is smaller than a corresponding cross section of one of the radial grooves.
Cutting insert
A cutting insert of a substantially horizontal cylindrical segment shape may include top and bottom surfaces having a circular segment shape. The cutting insert may include a convex side and a flat side. The cutting insert may include a top cutting edge which is formed where the convex side and the top surface meet, and a bottom cutting edge which is formed where the convex side and the bottom surface meet. The cutting insert may include a hole extending from the convex side towards the flat side. The hole may be positioned at a center of a surface of the flat side.
CUTTING TOOL
The invention relates to a cutting tool having a main body (4) extending along a longitudinal central axis (9) and a cutting insert (1), which is held on the main body (4) in an axially and/or radially positionally-adjustable manner and can be tensioned by means of a clamping claw (3). According to the invention, the cutting insert (1) is held by a clamping holder (2), which is held in a positionally-adjustable manner on the main body (4), and which can be tensioned on the main body (4) by means of the clamping claw (3) pressing against the cutting insert (1).
CUTTING INSERT, CUTTING TOOL, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING MACHINED PRODUCT
A cutting insert may include a base and a cutting part. The cutting part may include an upper surface, a first cutting edge and a second cutting edge. The first cutting edge may be located on a first ridgeline. The second cutting edge may be located on a second ridgeline. The upper surface may include a first inclined surface, protrusions and a first upheaved part. The first inclined surface may be located along the first ridgeline. The protrusions may be located side by side in a direction along the first ridgeline on the first inclined surface. The first upheaved part may be located at a side further away from the first ridgeline than the pair of protrusions. The second cutting edge may be inclined downward. An upper end of the first upheaved part may be located above the second cutting edge.
Cutting tool and cutting insert with fluid flow structures
A cutting tool includes a cutting insert comprising a top surface, a bottom surface, a clamping surface for abutting a clamp, a cutting edge, a hole extending through the insert from the bottom surface to the clamping surface, and a channel extending from the clamping surface to proximate the cutting edge, and a tool holder comprising a tool holder body having a pocket for receiving the insert, a clamp for contacting the clamping surface and clamping the insert in the pocket, and a tool holder passage in the body in flow communication with the hole in the insert. A cutting insert is also provided.
CUTTING INSERT ADAPTOR AND TOOL ASSEMBLY
A cutting insert adaptor for an insert pocket can include one or more pairs of opposing insert abutment surfaces and pocket abutment surfaces which converge at an acute angle. The one or more insert abutment surfaces are all rotated in the same direction, relative to their paired pocket abutment surface which in turn rotates a cutting insert abutting the cutting insert adaptor relative to an orientation the cutting insert would have if it only abutted the insert pocket instead of the cutting insert adaptor.
Cutting insert and drilling tool
A cutting insert for a drilling tool is disclosed includes an insert body having a longitudinal direction. A first axial side extends across the longitudinal direction on opposite sides of the insert body. The insert body has a first cutting edge extending along a rim portion at an intersection between a first rake face and the first axial side. The first axial side includes a first relief face and a second relief face. The first and second relief faces form obtuse angles with an imaginary centre plane of the insert body.
