Themed interactive environment in the form of a motel or hotel and method of operating the same
A hotel or motel room incorporates special effects in accordance with a particular theme (e.g., haunted room). A control room provides a concealed area for personnel and/or automated systems to trigger the special effects which may include, but are limited to shaking, rattling, rumbling, pepper ghosts, water fixtures being activated, thunder and lightning, swapping tiles with digital graphics, turning on a TV, clock or light, etc. Heat sensors, weight sensors, floor mats and/or other sensors determine positions of guests in the hotel and hotel rooms thereby allowing the automatic or manual triggering of the special effects.
Display control method, display control device, and non-transitory computer-readable recording medium storing display control program
A display control method includes: obtaining a position of an object which is arranged in an area when receiving an input; determining, in accordance with the position of the object, a first display position of at least a first image between the first image and a second image in a display area of a display device adjacent to the area; displaying the first image and the second image on the display device; and changing, after receiving the input, the first display position of the first image in accordance with a change in a position of the object in the area without changing a second display position of the second image.

Method for grid-based virtual reality attraction system
A virtual reality (VR) attraction method includes implementing a kit corresponding to plans associated with VR representations. The kit includes fixed accessories, moveable accessories, a platform having a pattern of markings, and sections. The platform has mounts to affix the fixed stage accessories to the platform. The pattern identifies coordinates corresponding to a location of the mounts. The sections interconnect according to the pattern to form the platform. The platform is configurable according to stage plans. The method also includes: configuring a motion tracking system to register identity, location, and/or orientation of the fixed accessories and to track identity, location, and/or orientation of the moveable accessories and a VR participant; and via a VR simulation engine, receiving the identity, location, and/or orientation of the fixed accessories and the identity, location, and/or orientation of the moveable accessories; and generating the VR representations to simulate a virtual environment for the VR participant.

Lift assembly with load cells
A lift assembly comprises a base, a drive mechanism, a flexible drive element extending from the drive mechanism along a fleet axis, and a sheave directing the drive element from the fleet axis to an output axis. The sheave is coupled to the base at a first sheave mount aligned with the fleet axis. The assembly can further include a second sheave mount aligned with the fleet axis and configured to be coupled to the sheave to allow the sheave to be de-coupled from the first sheave mount and coupled to the second sheave mount, resulting in substantially no change in a fleet angle of the fleet axis. Preferably, the sheave is positioned on a first side of the fleet axis when coupled to the first sheave mount, and the sheave is positioned on a second side of the fleet axis (e.g., opposite the first side) when coupled to the second sheave mount.
