The blade is movable downwardly from a first position where the blade is above the workpiece-supporting plane to a second position where a portion of the blade is below the workpiece-supporting plane. The base assembly has a top surface and a first handle disposed on the top surface, with a first hole on the top surface extending through the base assembly, the first hole being configured to allow a user to extend the user's hand therethrough and grip the first handle.

A platform apparatus for cutting an article of finished lumber or other building material comprises a platform supporting a power circular saw. The platform is fitted onto a stationary slide to slide back and forth on. The slide is fitted with a fence to push against a building material and also includes a saw blade slot through which the circular saw blade extends. Wherein the platform together with the stationary slide positions the circular saw blade to slide back and forth making precise cuts into the building material.

The present disclosure relates to a cutting machine comprising a rotating cutting wheel for performing separating cuts in a workpiece, and also relates to a workpiece positioning device for such a cutting machine. The cutting machine comprises a cutting wheel and a drive motor for driving the cutting wheel, a clamping means for clamping the workpiece, means for mechanically positioning the workpiece along one or two translational directions and additionally about one or two rotation axes, and a lifting mechanism for setting the cutting wheel on the workpiece to perform separating cuts in the positioned workpiece using the cutting wheel.

A miter saw extendable fence attachment for facilitating cutting of long pieces of wood includes a centerpiece that is complementary to a table of a miter saw. The centerpiece is configured for attachment to the table. Each of a pair of extensions comprises a support and a plate. The support is reversibly couplable to a respective opposing end of the centerpiece. The plate extends perpendicularly from a front of the support adjacent to a bottom of the support. The supports are positioned to couple to the centerpiece such that the plates are positioned coplanarly with an upper face of the table. A first fastener extends through the first opening into the first bore to clamp the first bushing to the fixed base, a second fastener extends through the second opening into the second bore to clamp the second bushing to the fixed base, and a third fastener extends through the opening into the third bore to releasably clamp the fence body to the fixed base.
