Reciprocating cutting tool
A jigsaw includes a motor, a rod having a blade attached thereto, a power transmission portion that converts rotation transmitted from the motor to vertical movement of the rod to vertically move the blade, and a counterweight that moves vertically in a direction of the vertical movement of the rod outside a range of the vertical, movement of the rod and the blade. At least a part of the counterweight is disposed so as to cross an extended line of a trajectory of the vertical movement of the rod. The counterweight moves vertically independently of the vertical movement of the rod which is produced by the power transmission portion.
Blade clamp for reciprocating saw
A reciprocating saw includes a blade assembly having a spindle and a blade clamp. The blade clamp includes a cover rotatably coupled to the spindle, and a detent movable in a radial direction to adjust the blade clamp between a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration. The cover is rotatable between a first rotational position relative to the spindle coinciding with the locked configuration, and a second rotational position relative to the spindle coinciding with the unlocked configuration. The reciprocating saw further includes a barrel surrounding at least a portion of the blade clamp. The barrel includes a plurality of projections extending from the barrel toward the blade clamp. At least one of the projections is engageable with the cover to rotate the cover from the second rotational position to the first rotational position, thereby adjusting the blade clamp from the unlocked configuration toward the locked configuration.
Saw blade
A saw blade has an elongated body with a first and second end, a cutting edge and an opposing back edge. A plurality of teeth is formed on the cutting edge. The first tooth of the plurality of teeth is immediately adjacent the second end of the blade. The first tooth is raker tooth and has a rake face and a clearance face. The rake face and clearance face intersect to form a cutting edge of the first tooth. The second end defines a plunging nose. The second end includes a nose end surface that extends between the cutting edge and the back edge. The nose end surface is on an angle of about 35 with respect to a line defined by tips of the plurality of teeth. The nose end surface intersects the first tooth relief surface to form an angled cutting edge with a leading sharp point.
Method for Operating a Machine Tool with a Gentle Start-Up
A method for operating a machine tool with a gentle start-up, preferably a jigsaw wherein at least one physical characteristic of the machine tool, in particular a motor and/or battery current, is detected by a detection unit, in particular a control or regulating unit of the machine tool, in an idle operating state of the machine tool with a throttled movement. A threshold of the physical characteristic, in particular a scraping threshold, is ascertained by an analysis unit, in particular the control or regulating unit of the machine tool, on the basis of the detected physical characteristic, and in further operation of the machine tool, a drive unit of the machine tool is set to an operating state under load, with a movement speed which is increased relative to the idle operating state with a throttled movement, when it is detected that the ascertained threshold has been overshot or undershot.
BLADE CLAMP FOR RECIPROCATING SAW
A reciprocating saw includes a blade assembly having a spindle and a blade clamp. The blade clamp selectively secures a blade to the spindle. The blade clamp includes a cover rotatably coupled to the spindle. The blade clamp is adjustable between a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration.
Counterbalancing mechanism and power tool having same
A reciprocating power tool may include a driving system including a motor and a transmission received in a housing to drive a reciprocating mechanism. A counterbalance mechanism may be coupled between the driving system and the reciprocating mechanism. The counterbalance mechanism may include a rotating counterbalance mechanism including a first rotating counterweight member and a second rotating counterweight member coupled to an output gear of the driving system. The counterbalance mechanism may include a rocking counterweight member coupled between the output gear and the housing. The output gear may include a recessed portion in which the first rotating counterweight member and a clutching system are received.
Saw blade including a cutting tooth with a protrusion
A saw blade includes a cutting portion having consecutive first, second, and third cutting teeth. Each cutting tooth includes a rake surface, a relief surface, and a tip. The first cutting tooth includes a protrusion extending from the relief surface of the first cutting tooth. The cutting portion includes a first gullet positioned between the first cutting tooth and the second cutting tooth and a second gullet sized differently than the first gullet positioned between the second cutting tooth and the third cutting tooth. The cutting portion includes a first pitch extending over the first gullet from the tip of the first cutting tooth to the tip of the second cutting tooth. The cutting portion includes a second pitch different than the first pitch extending over the second gullet from the tip of the second cutting tooth to the tip of the third cutting tooth.
Reciprocating saw
A reciprocating saw includes a housing, a motor, and a drive mechanism. The motor includes an output gear rotatable about a motor axis. The drive mechanism includes a driven gear that engages the output gear and is rotated by the motor. The driven gear has a circumference and is vertically-oriented within the housing. The drive mechanism also includes an output shaft coupled to the driven gear and configured to reciprocate relative to the housing. The drive mechanism further includes a single counterweight fixed relative to the driven gear and rotating with the driven gear through a path and in a same direction. As the counterweight moves through a rearward half of the path, the counterweight generally moves in an upward direction, and as the counterweight moves through a forward half of the path, the counterweight generally moves in a downward direction.
