ANIMAL BED HAVING DUAL INDEPENDENT SUPPORT CHAMBERS
A bed for at least one animal is provided. The bed includes a strip of belting having a front end, a back end, and opposing sides, an animal bed having a first fluid chamber and a second fluid chamber. A first fluid supply tube is in fluid connection with the first chamber, and a second fluid supply tube is in fluid connection with the second chamber, wherein the first and second chambers are fluidly isolated from one another. A method of preparing for use a bed for at least one animal is also provided. In addition, a system for using a bed for at least one animal is also provided.
CLUMPING ANIMAL LITTER AND METHOD THEREOF
A clumpable animal litter comprises composite particles of filler materials, such as limestone and sand, and sodium bentonite. The filler materials have a lower bulk density as compared to a granular mixture of the same percentage of filler and sodium bentonite clay and contain up to eighty-five percent less clay.
Pet waste collection mat
A pet waste collection mat for receiving a pet's waste. The pet waste collection mat is biodegradable and includes a mat having a base, one or more sidewalls, and an upper wall, defining an interior volume. The upper wall of the mat can receive pet waste thereon. Further, the upper wall includes a plurality of slots for allowing water and waste to fall onto the base. The base of the mat is impregnated with ground cover seeds so the seeds may grow upwards through the slots to conceal pet waste received on the upper wall. The pet waste collection mat further includes a plurality of interlocking connectors disposed along the periphery of the sidewalls so as to allow multiple mats to be connected to one another. Overtime, the mat and the pet waste decompose and fertilize the surrounding land.
Biomass clumping material and method
A process for making an animal litter from a woody biomass starting material is described, with the performance amendments substantially located entirely on the outside surface of the woody biomass particles. The process may include the steps of densifying the biomass starting material, crumbling the densified biomass material; screening the densified biomass material for size; optionally adding a zeolite containing a scent; spray coating the sized, densified biomass particles with a surface adhesion agent; and powder dosing the sized, densified biomass particles and zeolites with a performance amendment comprising equal parts bentonite and guar gum.
Toilet for household pets
A toilet for household pets comprises a housing having a horizontal platform, a film-moving mechanism having two axes installed in said housing on opposite transverse sides of the platform, and a winding drive that moves a clean film onto the platform from a roll installed on the first axis, and moves the film with the excrement along the platform to a roll installed on the second axis, and film-securing devices which are installed in the housing on opposite longitudinal side of the platform and designed to be capable of clamping and unclamping opposite edges of the film, respectively, for securing the film disposed in a stationary position on the platform and for the unhindered passage of the film moved along the platform. The first and second axes of the mechanism for moving the film are arranged and designed to be capable of tensioning the film and pressing same against the platform be means of the winding drive, wherein the film from the roll on the first axis in lifted to the platform and lowered from the platform to the roll on the second axis.
Soil amendment and method
A soil amendment comprising lignocellulosic fibrous materials is provided having one or more solvents and a fiber, wherein the fiber has been processed by ruminant digestion and anaerobic digestion. A method for preparing a soil amendment is also disclosed including the steps of providing excrement from a ruminant which has undergone ruminant digestion, introducing the ruminant excrement into an anaerobic digester, modifying the ruminant excrement to a first wet product, modifying the first wet product to generate a first dry product, and densifying the first dry product to, in turn, generate the soil amendment.
Granular Absorbent and System and Method for Treating or Processing Granular Absorbent During Granular Absorbent Transport
A system and method for treating or processing granular absorbent while the granular absorbent is being transported in a fluid stream that preferably is a stream of air. The system includes a pneumatic conveyor with a conduit that draws pellets exiting an extruder into the conduit drying the pellets as they are transported through the conduit. Material can be introduced that dries, coats or otherwise treats the pellets while the pellets are transported through the conduit. Coating material, e.g., powdered bentonite can coat and also dry pellets during transport. A conduit can have inner pellet treating surface that abrades pellets transported through the conduit producing smaller fines that can be packaged with pellets forming a granular absorbent product that forms clumps on top that extend generally horizontally.
Heat delivery system and method
A heat delivery system for agricultural applications, the system including: piping including alternate heat insulated segments and heat transferring segments, the piping being configured with a fluid flow path extending through the alternating heat insulated segments and heat transferring segments; and a fluid propelling arrangement configured for motivating flow of heat accommodating fluid within the fluid flow path.
AVIARY SYSTEM AND METHOD OF CIRCULATING LITTER IN AN AVIARY
An aviary that includes a system and method for providing litter to birds and for circulating the litter throughout the aviary. A litter distribution chain extends through at least some of the scratching platforms. The litter distribution chain receives litter from a storage container and then transfers the litter through the aviary for use by the birds on the scratching platforms. At least a portion of the litter from one scratching platform is directed to move to a scratching platform on a lower level where the litter may be used by birds occupying this lower level. This circulation pattern repeats on the current level, with the recycled litter being deposited on at least one scratching platform near the next lower aviary tower level. Once the litter reaches the lowest aviary tower level, it remains there until it is removed from the aviary by a belt or other means.
