COMPOSITION FOR THE PREVENTION AND ELIMINATION OF ODORS
Articles can be provided with odor resistance by applying a dispersion of a halogenated heterocyclic N-halamine in an inert liquid carrier onto the surface of the article and allowing the inert liquid carrier to penetrate into it. The N-halamine accordingly becomes deposited on the surface of the article after the inert liquid carrier penetrates into the article. This method can be used to provide odor resistance to a variety of substrates, including garbage bags. It can also be used to deposit other functional particulates onto the surface of substrates having sufficient porosity to take up the vehicle. For instance, such functional particles can be oxidants that display antimicrobial and/or enzyme inhibitory efficacy or particles having toxin interaction potentials through oxidative degradation or adsorption of toxic substances in air and/or water, such as fluoride uptake by metal oxide microparticles.
DUST ABATEMENT IN PARTICULATE CLAY
A method for reducing dust in particulate clay. The method comprises contacting clay particles with a polymer comprising at least 50 wt % polymerized units of acrylic acid and having M.sub.w from 1,000 to 100,000.
METHODS AND COMPOSITION FOR SUPPRESSION OF AMMONIA FORMATION
A method for suppressing the formation of ammonia comprising providing a carrier material to a container having a headspace; providing a bacteria and an odor inhibitor to the carrier material, the bacteria comprising Staphylococcus-xylosus and/or Staphylococcus-cohnii bacteria, and the odor inhibitor comprising an aminopolycarboxylic acid compound and a polyprotic acid compound, wherein at least one of the aminopolycarboxylic acid compound or the polyprotic acid compound is the salt form of the acid; and applying animal waste to the carrier material; wherein there is a 5 to 98 percent improvement of ammonia content in the headspace as compared to an untreated control comprising a container containing the carrier material and the bacteria and not contain the odor inhibitor. An ammonia suppressing composition.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING GRANULES
Disclosed herein are novel compositions for the production of granule products, and uses of the same. Said granule products may comprise one or more of an input material, fibers, a binder, moisture, and an additive. Also disclosed are processes and systems for making the same and methods of using the same. A process for manufacturing granules may include mixing and granulating input material, fibers, a binder, and water using a mixer to produce wet granules, drying and cooling the wet granules, and separating at least one of dry overs and dry fines from the dried, cooled granules using a classifier.
Ammonia reducing agent for animal beddings and litters
The present invention provides a composition for reducing ammonia levels in animal bedding or litter, comprising 0.015-40% citric acid and one or more of a clay-based particulate, diatomaceous earth or an organic material. The composition can also comprise an anti-microbial agent. A method of treating animal bedding or litter to reduce ammonia is also provided.
WATER-ABSORBING MATERIAL AND USES THEREOF
A chromogenic absorbent material for detecting a detectable substance in a water-containing medium, such as animal urine, is provided. The detectable substance may be indicative of a disease or condition, and the water-containing medium may be an excretion, blood, plasma, an aqueous solution or a solid impregnated with an aqueous solution. The chromogenic absorbent material may include a trigger agent, a chromogenic indicator convertible into a chromogenically active substance in the presence of the trigger agent and the detectable substance, and an absorptive material which is porous, for absorbing the water-containing medium. The absorptive material may include a water-absorbing polysaccharide providing absorptive properties to the chromogenic absorbent material. The trigger agent, the chromogenic indicator and the detectable substance are preferably unreactive to the absorptive material.
Clumping animal litter and method thereof
A clumpable animal litter comprises composite particles of filler materials, such as limestone and sand, and sodium bentonite. The filler materials have a lower bulk density as compared to a granular mixture of the same percentage of filler and sodium bentonite clay and contain up to eighty-five percent less clay.
System and ultrahigh pressure extrusion method for making extruded granular sorbent with post-extrusion cold-processing of extruded granular absorbent for size control
A post-extrusion extruded granular sorbent processing system having a pellet-collecting enclosure that receives pellets of granular sorbent extruded from a starch-containing admixture through a die at a discharge end of an extruder and transports the pellets in air from an air mover flowing from the enclosure through a pellet-conveying duct of a pneumatic conveyor cooling and drying the pellets. The system includes a subsystem configured for processing the pellets after extruding, cooling, and drying using a pellet processing machine configured for reducing a size of each pellet having a size greater than a size reduction setting of the machine. A preferred pellet processing machine has rotating horizontally and circumferentially corrugated rollers with a selectively variable gap between the rollers providing the size reducing setting and configuring the rotating rollers for reducing a size of the pellets passing between the rollers having a size greater than the gap between the rollers.
System and Method for Reprocessing Animal Bedding
A method and system reprocess soiled animal bedding material commingled with animal manure. In one aspect the soiled animal bedding material is separated in a shaker to send at least a preponderance of the manure to a holding tank. In another aspect the bedding is cleaned, rinsed and color is restored. The bedding material is subsequently dried and a bedding product, fertilizer product, and/or compacted product is formed. Alternatively, said bedding material is dried (without a compacting step) to form a product. In yet another aspect, the steps of separation, cleaning, rinsing and/or color restoration may be omitted.
Woodpulp-free urine pad and the production equipment
A woodpulp-free urine pad includes from top to bottom a top sheet, a perforated film layer, a core layer and a bottom layer, wherein the perforated film layer is made by perforating the surface of the waterproof material, the core layer comprises an upper adhesive layer, a lower adhesive layer and a water accepting layer which is mad of SAP polymeric particle between the upper and lower adhesive layers. The utility model has a strong ability to prevent liquid infiltration, and it removes away the wood pulp in the core layer to save a large amount of wood and to protect the environment. A production equipment for producing the woodpulp-free urine pad includes a feeding channel which is composed of a plurality of back-up rolls, follow the direction of forward motion of the feeding channel, there is sequentially provided with a material shelf of lower adhesive layers, an adding mechanism of water accepting layers, a material shelf of upper adhesive layers, a material shelf of bottom layers, a material shelf of top sheet and a cutting table, in order to facilitate the production of the woodpulp-free urine pad.
