Method and system for determining a condition of at least one pig in a pen

Method and system for determining a condition of at least one pig in a pen provided with a feed unit. The pen is provided with a sensor system. For carrying out the method, a step a., step b. or a combination of steps a. and b. is possible. In step a., with the aid of the sensor system a reaction of the at least one pig is measured. This is done when with the feed unit feed is made available in the pen to the at least one pig to determine on the basis of the measured reaction a condition of the at least one pig. In step b., with the aid of the sensor system it is measured that the at least one pig ‘demands’ feed to determine a condition of the at least one pig.

A movable partition is usable with an animal kennel to change the size of the reposable region of the kennel within which an animal can be disposed during the animal's period of growth. The reposable region is situated between the kennel door and the movable partition. The movable partition is mountable to ventilation openings formed in the animal kennel and is movable among a variety of distances from the kennel door to change the size of the reposable region within the kennel in order to properly train the animal and to avoid the animal relieving itself within the kennel. The partition includes a barrier element and a number of mounting elements that are mountable to the ventilation openings of the kennel. The movable partition further includes a number of clip apparatuses that are cooperable with the mounting elements to retain the mounting elements mounted to the ventilation openings.

A door assembly includes a frame having interconnected wires that define an opening for an animal to pass therethrough, and a door having interconnected wires and being coupled to the frame. A latch assembly has a handle structure and a pin. The handle structure is pivotable with respect to one of the door and the frame, and the pin is movable axially with respect to one of the door and the frame. A first wire of the plurality of wires of the frame forms a key hole assembly. The key hole assembly defines an aperture for receiving the pin when the door is in a latched position with respect to the frame. A tab assembly is formed by at least one wire of the door and is disposable behind at least one of the plurality of wires of the frame in the closed position.
