WELD GUN CAP DRESSER CUTTER
A tip dresser cutter including a circumferential portion having a circular shape rotatable about an axis of rotation, a center portion located radially inward from the circumferential portion proximate the axis of rotation, and a cutting flute extending radially between the center portion and the circumferential portion. The cutting flute including a leading edge, a trailing edge, a radially inward canted surface extending between the leading edge and the trailing edge. The radially inward canted surface includes a first section extending between the center portion and a first location on the cutting flute and a second section extending between the first location on the cutting flute and a second location on the cutting flute. The second section of the radially inward canted surface including a curved portion that is parallel to a plane of rotation of the cutting flute.
Collet Assembly for Fastener Feeding Apparatus
A collet assembly including an actuator and a collet connected to the actuator. The collet assembly is adapted to be installed on a welding electrode holder having an electrode. The collet is moveable by the actuator from an advanced position, in which the collet is adapted to grip a fastener such as a welding rivet, and a retracted position, in which at least a portion of the collet is retracted into the actuator to enable the electrode to engage the fastener for welding to a work piece, and the collet is adapted to release the fastener.
Direct resistance heating simulation method
A direct resistance heating simulation method is provided. In this method, a welding region and its peripheral region of steel sheets to be welded by a pair of electrodes are divided into a plurality of elements. A coupled analysis is performed such that a temperature, a metal structure, stress and strain at each element are determine in a mutually associated manner based on Joule loss obtained through a current analysis and a magnetic field analysis for each element. The coupled analysis is repeated to predict an effect of one or more parameters, including at least one of a frequency, a magnitude and an application time of electric current to be applied to the electrodes, a cooling time, a pressure applied from the electrodes to the steel sheets and a shape of the electrodes, on welding quality after a post-heating by direct resistance heating and to improve weld strength.

An apparatus having an actuator having a motor, a housing and a thrust rod, where the actuator is configured to convert rotational motion of the motor into axial motion of the thrust rod. A movable holder is coupled to the thrust rod and configured for axial motion of a tool coupling therewith. A bearing assembly is coupled to the actuator, extending along an axis thereof. The bearing assembly is configured to engage with the bearing to provide positional stability for the movable holder and tool coupling when positioned along the actuator axis by motion of the thrust rod.

A device and method for monitoring and correcting the position and orientation of an operating device (2) with respect to a piece (P). A measuring device (5) including a plurality of sensors (505) connected to the operating device is used to measure through contactless technology the distances of the sensors from a surface () of the piece along respective directions (l, r, s) having given orientations. The sensor measurements are compared to predetermined desired values and the position of the operating device (2) is selectively changed to maintain a desired positional relationship between a main operative axis (X1) of the operative device and operation axis (X2) defined by the surface of the piece.
HIGH ASPECT RATIO WELD FACE DESIGN FOR DISSIMILAR METAL WELDING
An electrical resistance spot welding electrode is disclosed for contact with a narrow or other selected spot weld region in a steel workpiece in a stack-up with an aluminum alloy workpiece for use in a spot welding method in which the weld nugget is carefully formed in the aluminum workpiece at the interface of the stack-up. The welding face of the welding electrode for contact with the steel workpiece is shaped with an aspect ratio greater than one, which fits against the contact surface of the steel workpiece, while the welding face for the aluminum-contacting weld electrode is circular (with an aspect ratio equal to one). The stack-up of workpieces may include a single steel workpiece facing two aluminum workpieces in a sandwich type stack-up or two steel workpieces facing a single aluminum workpiece with the outer steel workpiece having the narrow contact surface for the steel welding electrode.
Spot welding system
To provide a spot welding system capable of shortening a cycle time of spot welding. A robot controller measures a time between a transmission time of a welding command signal to a welding machine and a reception time of a welding completion signal, after determining completion of pressuring by a spot welding robot, and subtracts a predetermined welding time from the measured time, thereby calculating a communication delay time between the robot controller and the welding machine. A spot welding system advances transmission timing of the welding command signal and the welding completion signal by the calculated communication delay time.

A vehicle body pressurizing tip is installed in the rotation portion body. A pressurizing portion body is rotatably installed at the second opposing side of the rotation portion body. A pin clamp is installed in the pressurizing portion body and is configured to clamp the component panel. A component pressurizing tip is installed in the pressurizing portion body and is configured to apply pressure to the component panel. A multi point projection welding method is also disclosed.

Provided are a vehicle body assembling method and a vehicle body assembling apparatus which allow a simple configuration in the vicinity of the connecting portion between an upper jig and a lower jig and allow an increase in the efficiency of assembling work (welding work). A vehicle body assembling apparatus is equipped with a jig for supporting vehicle body components in a preassembled position, the jig comprising an upper jig and a lower jig which are connected to each other in at least two places. Each of the connection places is provided with a connecting means for fixing a three-dimensional coordinate position while allowing uniaxial turning. The vehicle body assembling apparatus is also equipped with a conveying means for conveying the upper jig which supports the vehicle body components, and reduces the load applied to the lower jig from the upper jig when connecting the upper jig to the lower jig.
