Cylindrical cargo container construction

A method of manufacturing a cylindrical cargo container includes: providing a plurality of rigid panels together formable into a cylindrical shell; forming a first semi-cylindrical shell from a first set of the panels; forming a second semi-cylindrical shell from a second set of the panels; forming the cylindrical shell from the first semi-cylindrical shell and the second semi-cylindrical shell; forming a collar conformably encircling the cylindrical shell; constricting the collar to compress joints formed at abutting edges of pairs of adjacent panels; rolling the cylindrical shell and collar to bring respective joints of pairs of panels to a lower position, and welding an inside seam of the joint when at the lower position; removing the collar from the cylindrical shell; and rolling the cylindrical shell to bring respective joints of pairs of panels to an upper position, and welding an outside of the joint when at the upper position.

PIPE PROCESSING TOOL WITH PIPE DEFORMATION MEMBERS
20210033217 · 2021-02-04 ·

A pipe processing tool that is configured to deform the end of a pipe so that the circumferential shape of the end of the pipe generally matches the circumferential shape of an adjacent pipe end. Matching the circumferential shapes of the pipe ends is advantageous during a pipe attachment process. The pipe processing tool can include a deformation ring with a plurality of pipe deformation members. Each pipe deformation member faces radially inward and is actuatable in a radial direction toward and away from the center of the deformation ring in order to permit engagement with the pipe. Each pipe deformation member is individually and separately actuatable from the other pipe deformation members so that the circumferential shapes of the pipes can be altered by controlling suitable ones of the pipe deformation members.

Clamp apparatus and method for joining pipeline segments

The disclosure of the invention provides a clamping apparatus and methods for joining segments of pipeline. The clamping apparatus includes first and second clamp assembly portions, each having at least two pivotable arms that clamp on to ends of two pipeline segments, respectively. The apparatus includes bridging members positioned within the gap connecting first and second clamp assembly portions. The bridging member has a central portion between and radially distal to first and second portions. The arrangement of the central portion provides a continuous open area around the circumference at the pipeline junction so a weld can be made with high precision and efficiency.

DEVICE FOR WELDING PIPE BRANCHES AND EXTENSIONS

A device for welding pipe branches and extensions to a main pipe from inside the main pipe. The device includes a frame (30) and a frame cylinder (31), an elongated electrode shaft (3) having a longitudinal central axis, around which the electrode shaft is rotatably arranged, a rotator disc (13) of the electrode shaft (3), through which the electrode shaft is able to slide axially, an electrode holder (4) in the end of the electrode shaft, an electrode (5) fastened to the holder (4), a welding jig (1, 1.2, 1.3; 2.3, 2.4, 2.5) for supporting the main pipe (6.1; 2.2a) in the welding station, a fastening element (8, 8a) of the welding jig, a rotating element (9) of the welding jig, to which the fastening element is fastened and which is rotatably bearing-mounted inside the frame cylinder (31) such that the rotational axis of the welding jig combines with the central axis of the electrode shaft. The welding jig has a support bracket (1.2, 1.3; 2.4, 2.5) for the main pipe (6.1; 2.2a), by which the main pipe is to be supported in the station, in which the centre axes of the main pipe (6.1; 2.2a) and the electrode shaft (3) are combined. The welding jig has, surrounding the electrode shaft (3), an adapter piece (23), to which is connected a shielding gas channel (24), the shielding gas being adapted to be guided through the adapter piece (23), into the main pipe, and through it, also into the pipe branch or extension to be welded, when the main pipe, or the pipe extension (6.3) to be welded to the main pipe, or the shielding gas pipe (2.3) surrounding the main pipe rests against the adapter piece (23). The rotator disc (13) of the electrode shaft is equipped with a locking device (12), with which the electrode shaft (3) is to be immovably locked in relation to the rotator disc (13).

Welding Jig Assembly

A welding jig assembly operable to assist a welder in welding pipe elbows of varying diameters to an adjacent portion of pipe. The welding jig assembly includes a body member that is planar in manner having a first end and a second end. The body member further includes a first arm member and a second arm member that are integrally formed therewith and have a void therebetween. The first arm member and the second arm member have chuck engagement rods extending outward therefrom. The welding jig assembly includes a first set of pipe elbow support members and a second set of pipe elbow support members located on opposing lateral edges of the body member. The sets of pipe elbow support members are arcuate in form and have portions extending outward from opposing sides of the body member. An aperture is formed in the body member to receive a securing chain.

Pipe Support System, and Method of Use
