A method for removing a fastener with an extractor tool. The method comprising providing the fastener and the extractor tool, wherein the fastener includes a head portion and the extractor tool includes a drive head, a torque-tool body, an external thread, and a tubular sleeve. The method further comprising driving the torque-tool body of the extractor tool into an engagement recess of the fastener head portion and applying rotational force to the extractor tool to rotate the fastener. The method further comprising rotating the tubular sleeve along the external thread and into contact with the fastener, pressing the external sleeve axially against the fastener to remove the fastener from the extractor tool.

Tool Bit Holder

A tool bit holder that accommodates and secures specific ranges of hexagonal wrench sizes in different physical orientations therein, for four purposes: speed rotation of the tool for fast bolt extraction, support of the hexagonal wrench's shaft for an increased torque application, mechanically strengthening of a hexagonal wrench, and for the application of torque centered about the longitudinal axis of the working arm of the hexagonal tool bit so as to prevent the stripping out of the hexagonal socket in the mechanical fastener.

Multi-grip screw apparatus

A screw bit body allows for efficient torque force application onto a socket fastener. The screw bit body includes a plurality of laterally-bracing sidewalls, a first base, and a second base. The laterally-bracing sidewalls are radially distributed about a rotation axis of the screw bit body with each further including a first lateral edge, a second lateral edge, a bracing surface, and an engagement cavity. The engagement cavity creates an additional gripping point to prevent slippage in between the screw bit body and the socket fastener. The engagement cavity traverses normal and into the bracing surface. Additionally, the engagement cavity traverses into the screw bit body from the first base to the second base. The engagement cavity is specifically positioned offset from the first lateral edge by a first distance.

The adjustment member, configured to be received within the cavity, the adjustment member comprises a first arm; and a second arm, the second arm integrally connected, and perpendicular to, the first arm.

Tool bit

A tool bit includes a hexagonal drive portion, a working end, and a shank interconnecting the drive portion and the working end. The shank includes an outer peripheral surface having a curvature in a plane including a central axis of the tool bit. The outer peripheral surface having the curvature includes a length in the direction of the central axis. A ratio of the length of the outer peripheral surface having the curvature to the length of the tool bit is between about 0.2:1 and about 0.7:1.

TOOL BIT

A tool bit includes a drive portion configured to be engaged by a tool, the drive portion including a first maximum outer dimension, a shank extending from the drive portion and including a reduced outer diameter, and a tip coupled to an end of the shank opposite from the drive portion. The tip includes a compressive residual stress layer formed by blasting to increase a wear resistance of the tip relative to the shank. The tip additionally includes a second maximum outer dimension. The reduced outer diameter of the shank is smaller than the first maximum outer dimension of the drive portion and the second maximum outer dimension of the tip.
