[Problem] To provide a screw cutting mechanism that can stably feed screws to a driver bit by stabilizing the position of the screws, and that has an accurate and smooth cutting action.

[Solution] Provided is a screw cutting mechanism for cutting screws one at a time from a screw feeder, wherein: the cutting mechanism is equipped with a rotating disk that rotates horizontally; the outer circumference of the rotating disk comprises a recessed section that opens toward the axis of rotation and holds the screws therein; the rotating disk fits into a circular cavity in the upper section on the frame side; a rotating shaft attaches the rotating disk to the upper section on the frame side, is equipped with a fixed bearing section in the middle section on the frame side, and is equipped with an adjustable bearing section that can be secured to the lower section on the frame body side so that the attachment position is adjustable; a slit disk, which is equipped with a slit that corresponds to the recessed section, and a drive gear are fixed at suitable locations on the rotating shaft between the adjustable bearing section and the rotating disk; a detection mechanism for detecting the slit of the slit disk is provided; a stepping motor is controlled by a detection signal from the detection mechanism to drive the drive gear; and the rotating disk is rotated by a prescribed angle in one direction.

Nosepiece and magazine for power screwdriver

A magazine is configured to be removably coupled to a power tool housing of a power tool. The magazine has a housing configured to be rotatably attachable to the power tool housing. An advancing mechanism is received in the magazine housing, and is configured to advance a strip of collated fasteners into position to be driven by the power tool. An indexing ring has a plurality of recesses and is configured to be non-rotatably attached to the power tool housing. A detent is biased to removably engage one of the plurality of recesses, and is configured to be non-rotatably attached to the magazine housing. The detent removably engages the recesses to allow for indexed tool-free rotation of the magazine housing relative to the power tool housing.

A fastening tool includes: a bit holding portion which detachably holds a driver bit and is configured to rotate in a circumferential direction of the driver bit and move in an axial direction of the driver bit; a motor configured to perform at least one of rotation of the bit holding portion and movement of the bit holding portion along the axial direction; and a control unit configured to control a position of the bit holding portion along the axial direction by a rotation amount of the motor. The control unit is configured to stop rotation of the motor based on a load applied to the motor rotated in one direction of moving the bit holding portion in a direction approaching a fastening target.

Fastener installation systems and adapters

Fastener installation systems, devices and methods for driving fasteners, including fasteners, into a surface are disclosed. The fastener installation systems include an adapter operable to engage a chuck on a power tool on a first end and a fastener delivery attachment on an opposing end.

AUTOFEED SCREWDRIVER ATTACHMENT WITH FASTENER ADVANCE STOPPER

A stopper for an autofeed screwdriver attachment designed for mounting to a manual-feed screw gun that prevents overshooting when advancing a collated strip of fasteners during operation. The attachment has a nosepiece that protrudes from the front end, and this nosepiece is also used as a guide to drive fasteners into a workpiece. The nosepiece is depressed as the fastener is driven, and automatically extends when released from the workpiece. As the nosepiece extends, it rotates a pair of sprockets, which advances the collated fastener strip. This sequence is referred to as an index on return. The stopper contacts one of the sprockets to prevent it from further rotation, thus preventing any overshooting of the collated fastener strip. When the nosepiece is depressed again, the stopper releases contact with one of the sprockets.

ROTATING T-CLIP INSTALLATION TOOLS AND METHODS OF USE

A clip strip installation system comprising an adjustable base with a removably attaching tool body. The tool body has mechanisms for receiving and feeding through the tool body a clip of collated deck installation clips. One clip at a time is disposed within an installation chamber, where a vertical bit is rotated to drive a fastener of the clip into a support structure, such as a joist. The process of removing the bit causes automatic reloading of the chamber with the next clip in the strip without the need for a motor or power source.
