Method and system of using an USB user interface in an electronic torque wrench
A communication port interface facilitates downloading of torque and/or angle log information from an electronic torque tool to an external device. Torque and/or angle preset job information may be entered in client software and uploaded from the external device to the electronic torque tool via the communication port interface. Additional information including real time clock information and wrench system parameters may be uploaded to the electronic torque tool via the communication port interface.
TIGHTENING TOOL
A tightening tool is configured to allow a worker to perceive that a tightening torque generated by tightening a tightened member by the worker reaches a preset torque value. The tightening tool includes a torque value setting unit configured to be able to set the preset torque value to a predetermined value by rotating a rotating member, and a rotation angle detector configured to detect a rotation angle of the rotating member, and output rotation angle information based on the detected rotation angle.
Adaptive U-bolt joint stabilization process
An adaptive mechanical joint control and stabilization process and device having particular usefulness in mechanical joints employing U-bolts. The method and device monitors at least two predetermined metrics during a fastener tightening clampload cycle and compares the work expended in achieving a target limit value. Through examining the work expended through the monitored metrics, additional clampload cycles will automatically be run until the monitored work expended for all of the fasteners falls within predetermined values increasing the stabilization of the joint and further advantages of increased residual clampload. The process and device is useful in separating clampload cycles which form or yield the fastener from a final clampload cycle which properly elongates the fastener for a secure clampload and stabilized joint.
Wrench head for a universal wrench
A wrench head for a universal wrench is disclosed that may include a housing having an upper portion and a lower portion. The wrench head may further include a base plate positioned inside the housing towards the upper portion of the housing, and a plurality of push-rods positioned inside the housing. The wrench head may further include a resilient member positioned inside the housing between the base plate and the distal end of each of the plurality of push-rods. In the default position, the resilient member biases each of the plurality of push-rods, and in the retracted position, the proximal end of each of the plurality of push-rods is pushed against the resilient member to be received along with a portion of the resilient member by a compartment of the plurality of compartments defined at the bottom surface of the base plate.
ELECTRIC PULSE TOOL
An electric pulse tool for performing tightening operations, where torque is delivered in pulses to tighten a screw joint, includes an output shaft, a sensor arranged to determine a parameter value associated with the tightening of the screw joint, a processor, and a memory containing instructions executable by the processor. The electrical pulse tool operates to provide torque pulses on the output shaft in a first direction until the determined parameter value associated with the tightening of the screw joint reaches within or above a predetermined first interval including a target parameter value. The electrical pulse tool also operates to provide at least one torque pulse on the output shaft in a second direction that is opposite to the first direction in case the determined parameter value exceeds the target parameter value within a predetermined second interval.
TORQUE WRENCH WITH SHOCK ABSORPTION
The present disclosure relates to a tool including one or more shock absorption components disposed in the tool and adapted to protect various components of the tool in the event the tool is dropped or otherwise sustains an impact force. In an embodiment, the tool includes shock absorption foam disposed above and below an electronic display. The tool may also include a shock absorption component disposed under an end cap of the tool to absorb a shock or impact force to the tool when the tool is dropped on the end cap.
Cannulated disposable torque limiting device with plastic shaft
A torque-limiting device may include a shaft extending axially through upper and lower shanks, a spring, and a nut to an end opening of a handle. The upper and lower shanks may be under a force from the spring and further configured to selectively engage within a predetermined torque limit and disengage at above the predetermined torque limit. Accordingly, the shaft may receive torque up to the predetermined limit as provided by a user operating a handle of the torque-limiting device. The torque-limiting device may be disposable, reusable, economical, and have high torque capabilities. The shaft may be of a plastic material and include a lumen extending there through, and through which a variety of devices and materials may be delivered to a workpiece.
System and methods for interacting with a smart tool
A system and method performed by the system comprising obtaining a work parameter measured by a smart tool connected to an electronic device; and displaying information associated with the work parameter on a display of the electronic device. A system and method perform by the system comprises measuring a work parameter associated with a smart tool operating on a workpiece; and sending the work parameter to an electronic device connected to the smart tool to enable the electronic device to display information associated with the work parameter on a display of the electronic device.
Method of calibrating torque using peak hold measurement on an electronic torque wrench
The present disclosure relates to an electronic torque tool, a calibration fixture, and a method for calibrating the electronic torque tool. The calibration includes applying a torque to the torque wrench and releasing the applied torque once the applied torque reaches a full scale calibration torque. The calibration fixture holds and displays a peak value of the applied torque and the torque wrench holds and displays a measured peak value of the applied torque. The measured peak value on the torque wrench may then be adjusted, by incrementing or decrementing the displayed value, to match the peak value displayed on the calibration fixture.
