A calibration rig (1), for calibrating a torque wrench (9), comprises a support structure (3) for supporting the torque wrench (9) during calibration. The support structure (3) comprises: a support member (7) which is free to move substantially vertically; means for applying a balance force (14, 15) to the support member (7), wherein the balance force acts counter to a force exerted by the weight of the torque wrench (9) when a handle of the torque wrench (9) is received by the support member (7); means for applying a measured torque (6) to the torque wrench (7); and means for resisting rotation (16) of the torque wrench (9) as a result of the applied torque.

METHOD OF CALIBRATING TORQUE USING PEAK HOLD MEASUREMENT ON AN ELECTRONIC TORQUE WRENCH

The present disclosure relates to an electronic torque tool, a calibration fixture, and a method for calibrating the electronic torque tool. The calibration includes applying a torque to the torque wrench and releasing the applied torque once the applied torque reaches a full scale calibration torque. The calibration fixture holds and displays a peak value of the applied torque and the torque wrench holds and displays a measured peak value of the applied torque. The measured peak value on the torque wrench may then be adjusted, by incrementing or decrementing the displayed value, to match the peak value displayed on the calibration fixture.

ADAPTIVE U-BOLT JOINT STABILIZATION PROCESS AND APPARATUS

An adaptive mechanical joint control and stabilization process and device having particular usefulness in mechanical joints employing U-bolts. The method and device monitors at least two predetermined metrics during a fastener tightening clampload cycle and compares the work expended in achieving a target limit value. Through examining the work expended through the monitored metrics, additional clampload cycles will automatically be run until the monitored work expended for all of the fasteners falls within predetermined values increasing the stabilization of the joint and further advantages of increased residual clampload. The process and device is useful in separating clampload cycles which form or yield the fastener from a final clampload cycle which properly elongates the fastener for a secure clampload and stabilized joint.

Digital torque wrench

A digital torque wrench mainly comprises a transmission rod of wrench body provided in a handle, and a tool head provided at the exterior of the handle. An abutment surface on the other end of the transmission rod is to abut with one end of a lever arm. A roller is provided on the other end of the lever arm, and a rolling member opposite to the roller is also provided. A latch member on an actuator is inserted between the roller and the rolling member. Further, a controller is coupled with the actuator and a torque sensing element.

A top surface of a transmitter on a torque wrench is opposed to a position camera, and bolt holes to fix the transmitter to a wrench main body open on the top surface. The bolt holes are formed to four places so as to define a rectangle and extend in a thickness direction of the transmitter. The marker is attached to the top surface of a head of one of the bolts, which extends through a through bolt hole. When the transmitter is fixed to the main body using a bolt, the depth of a large diameter portion of the through bolt hole is larger than the total thickness of the bolt head portion and the marker. Therefore, the marker is disposed lower than an aperture surface of the bolt hole and the possibility of the marker being damaged during work is reduced.

Torque wrench capable of correcting torque and torque correction method thereof

A torque wrench includes a mechanical structure and an electronic structure. The mechanical structure includes a tubular body, a flexible rod, an abutment member, an elastic member, a trip mechanism, an adjustment mechanism and a mechanical scale indication mounted in the tubular body for indicating the set torque of the wrench. The electronic structure includes at least one torque sensor and a display unit. When correcting the torque value of the mechanical structure, a force is applied to the wrench and the torque sensor detects the trip torque value of the wrench. The torque value of the mechanical structure is adjusted to match the torque value detected by the torque sensor so as to eliminate the error of the torque value of the mechanical structure.

WRENCH ASSEMBLY FOR TIGHTENING FASTENER TO SPECIFIED ROTATIONAL POSITION AT SPECIFIED TORQUE

A wrench assembly tightens a fastener for a latch mechanism of an openable body panel to a specified torque at a specified rotational position. A keyed socket head couples to a head of the fastener in one and only one rotational orientation. An adapter body connects a torque wrench to the keyed socket head. The torque wrench rotates the wrench assembly to turn the fastener via the keyed socket head. The adapter body defines a wrench reference surface that aligns with a panel reference surface of the openable body panel when the fastener is tightened to the specified rotational position. The torque wrench indicates when the wrench assembly applies the specified torque on the fastener.

Calibration device for dynamometric tools

A calibration device for dynamometric tools including a sliding mechanical structure associated with a frame of a test bench, which allows to impart a force and a controlled rotation in such a torque tool, said tool having its clamping tool engaged in a brake placed on the bench. The mechanical structure includes a pair of longitudinal bars which can be connected to the bench, on which at least one guide is mounted transversely, on this guide there is a support which slides in the transverse direction and is provided with a constraint for the tool body, so that the tool is pivoted on the brake with its tool head and can rotate to simulate a tightening of the brake F when the support is moved along this guide.
