The hub remover plate may comprise a front surface, a rear surface opposite the front surface, an arcuate section extending between the front surface and the rear surface. The hub remover plate may also include a slot and an opening that extending through the hub remover plate. An insert may comprise a first portion that is configured to be received within the opening of the hub remover plate, a second portion that includes a shoulder that is configured to contact the rear surface of the hub remover plate, and a threaded axial bore extending through the insert. The pusher screw assembly may include a screw, where the screw is configured to be received in the threaded axial bore of the insert.

Systems and methods for preloading a bearing and aligning a lock nut
09850943 · 2017-12-26 · ·

A method of adjusting preload on a bearing assembly of a wheel mounted on an axle or spindle with a lock nut includes mounting a preload adjustment tool onto a threaded axle or spindle. The load on the bearing assembly is increased using the tool. The wheel on the axle or spindle is rotated to set the bearing assembly. The load on the bearing assembly is decreased to a desired maximum preload on the bearing. After decreasing the load on the bearing assembly to a desired maximum preload, the lock nut is tightened by hand until the lock nut cannot be further tightened. The lock nut is loosened by rotating the lock nut to a preferred location where a guide mark on the tool aligns with one mark on the lock nut located closest to the guide mark wherein a resultant preload on the bearing assembly is within a preset range from the desired maximum preload.

A puller includes a collar, claws, a synchronizer and an abutting element. The collar includes slots and pivotal connectors located corresponding to the slots. The claws are pivotally connected to the pivotal connectors. Each of the claws includes a protuberance movable in and along a corresponding one of the slots. The synchronizer includes a receiving portion for receiving the protuberances. The synchronizer is movable in the collar between an opening position and a closing position. In the opening position, the synchronizer opens the claws by the protuberances. In the closing position, the synchronizer closes the claws by the protuberances. The abutting element is extensible from the collar.

Injector sleeve installation tool and removal tool kit
09827656 · 2017-11-28 · ·

A tool for inserting and fastening a replacement injector sleeve in the cylinder head of a diesel engine. The tool is part of an injector sleeve tool kit which also includes an injector sleeve removal tool. The installation tool includes an expandable mandril which is inserted into the injector sleeve and expands a portion of the sleeve causing a press fit of the sleeve within the cylinder head. The sleeve removal tool includes a tap having a longitudinal body and a threaded cutting head at one end and a bolt having a head at the other end. An extraction nut is threaded onto the threaded shaft of the drive member followed by a bearing surface member such as a spacer. A hollow cylinder or support sleeve having an internal diameter greater than the injector sleeve to be removed and an external diameter less than the diameter of the sleeve bore includes a shoulder member.

Seal extraction tool

Tool for extracting annular carbon face seal from bore of equipment which seal is installed. Tool has extraction-tube for insertion into bore at entrance so, when extraction-tube is fully inserted into bore, multi-legged collet formed at distal-end of extraction-tube located within seal and proximal-end of extraction-tube accessible at entrance of bore. Tool has elongate-member extending along central passage of extraction-tube. Wedge element provided at distal-end of elongate-member located at mouth of collet. Proximal-end of elongate-member accessible at proximal-end of extraction-tube. Tool has support for reacting axial extraction force applied to extraction-tube to equipment. Tool has first-actuator at proximal-end of elongate-member. Tool configured so first-actuator causes wedge element to be pulled into collet, thereby expanding collet and causing to grip inner surface of seal. Tool has actuation second-actuator which operatively connects extraction-tube and support arrangement so actuation of second-actuator causes axial extraction force to extraction tube, whereby extraction force, reacted to equipment, extracts seal from bore when seal is gripped by collet.
