METHOD OF MANUFACTURING BALL JOINT WITH A THREADED DOMED COVER PLATE
A method of manufacturing a vehicle suspension component includes inserting a cover body into an aperture of a housing, the cover body being disposed about a central axis concentric with the aperture of the housing, the cover body having a convex side and a concave side and an outer perimeter disposed about the central axis, the cover body defining a threaded bore concentric with the central axis, and deforming the cover body into retaining engagement with the housing by pressing against the convex side until the cover body is at least partial deformed and the outer perimeter is expanded compared to a pre-deformed state of the cover body.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PRELOADING A BEARING AND ALIGNING A LOCK NUT
An apparatus for providing a load on a bearing mounted to a shaft includes an attaching member releasably connectable to the shaft. A press mechanism is coupled to the attaching member and is configured to provide a compressive load to the bearing. An optical sending unit is configured to output a high intensity light to allow a user to locate a shaft slot of the shaft to align the press mechanism relative to the shaft when the attaching member connects to the shaft.
Puller tool and adapter
A puller tool comprises a cross bar with a central portion having a through hole defining a first axis; a forcing screw configured to extend through the through hole; and an adapter detachably attached to the cross bar and having a threaded hole defining a second axis for the forcing screw, and wherein the first axis and second axis are substantially aligned. The adapter comprises a threaded hole configured to receive the forcing screw and defining a second axis, wherein the first axis and second axis are substantially aligned; a base portion containing the threaded hole and arrangeable adjacent a first axial side of the cross bar; at least a first wall portion extending away from the base portion and arrangeable adjacent to a first lateral side of the central portion of the cross bar, and wherein the adapter is detachably attachable to the cross bar.
Sleeve installer
A sleeve installer is provided, including: a threaded rod; an abutting unit, disposed around and movable along the threaded rod, including first and second abutting assemblies, one of the first and second abutting assemblies being configured to be abutted against a barrel portion of a sleeve assembly, the other of the first and second abutting assemblies being configured to be abutted against a tubular member of the sleeve assembly; and a push unit, including first and second push members which are connected to two opposite ends of the threaded rod, at least one of the first and second push members being movably screwed to the threaded rod, the first push member including a head portion and an urging assembly located at a side of the head portion, the urging assembly and the second push member being respectively abutted against two opposite sides of the abutting unit.
Shaft driving tool
A tool for driving a shaft a shaft within an apertured member, the tool incorporating a segmented sleeve having upper, lower, and medial segments, each segment having upper and lower ends, a hollow bore of the lower segment being helically threaded; a shaft biasing screw mounted within the lower segment's hollow bore, upper and lower joints, the upper joint connecting the upper end of the screw with the upper segment, and the lower joint connecting the medial segment with the lower segment; a first gear component attached to the upper segment; a support frame attached to the medial segment; a second gear component mounted rotatably upon the support frame, the second gear component being positioned for rotating the first gear component; a rotary power input stem fixedly attached to the second gear component; and a clamp or hook arms adapted for positioning the apertured member beneath the screw's shaft biasing lower end.
APPARATUS FOR PRELOADING A BEARING
A method for preloading a bearing includes releasably, threadably, and directly attaching an attaching member to a circumferential outside surface of an exposed end of a threaded shaft of an axle or spindle. A frame is axially separated from, and coupled to, the attaching member. A plurality of extensions extends from the frame axially past the attaching member toward the wheel hub assembly. An adjustment mechanism moves the frame and the plurality of extensions axially towards the wheel hub assembly to contact the wheel hub assembly and/or the bearing to apply a preload to the bearing within the wheel hub assembly.
Heavy duty bearing race remover
A bearing race remover is provided that can be utilized in the removal of bearing race elements of bearing assemblies of vehicles of Class 1 through Class 8 designations. The bearing race remover is formed of a puller base, a compression member, and a bearing race engagement extension. The puller base has a cylindrical hub having radially disposed vanes forming an engagement collar to contact impinge against a wheel hub. The radially disposed vanes are to engage race engagement protuberances in a self centering manner to engage within the bearing race. Downward or upward movement of the compression member imparts a removal or insertion force onto a bearing race in order to release or reinsert the bearing race into the wheel hub.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INSERTING AND REMOVING BUSHING ASSEMBLIES
A bushing displacing system comprising an engaging member and a brace member. The engaging member is configured to engage the brace assembly to displace the engaging member in the displacement direction and at least a portion of the bushing assembly to displace at least a portion of the bushing assembly in the displacement direction. The brace member is adapted to engage the brace assembly and the structural member. Operation of the actuator displaces at least one of the brace assembly and the engaging member in the displacement direction relative to the structural member such that the engaging member displaces at least a portion of the bushing assembly towards a desired position relative to the housing opening in the structural member.
Tool for removing a brake piston from a brake assembly of a wind turbine and related method
The present disclosure is directed to a tool for removing a brake piston from a brake assembly of a wind turbine. The tool includes a base member configured for placement on a surface of a brake piston sleeve. The tool also includes a puller assembly configured for insertion into an inner cavity defined by the brake piston. The puller assembly includes a first shaft and a collet coupled to the first shaft. The first shaft is moveable relative to the base member. The collet is configured to engage an inner surface of the brake piston. Moving the first shaft relative to the base member slides the brake piston relative to the brake piston sleeve.
Bearing removal tool
A bearing removal tool includes a plurality of hook arms and a connecting disk. Each hook arm has a connecting space for engaging with a peripheral portion of the connecting disk, and there are specific dimensional relationships between the connecting spaces and the connecting disk such that, once the connecting disk is fitted into the connecting spaces of the hook arms, the user only has to move the hook arms laterally for a predetermined distance in order for the hook arms to be restricted by the connecting disk and prevented from separating from the connecting disk. The bearing removal tool, therefore, can be put together more easily and more rapidly than its prior art counterparts.
