The invention relates to a personal care device such as a hair cutter or electric shaver, comprising a handle, a working head pivotably attached to said handle, a slider which is provided with a supplementary working tool such as a longhair trimmer and slidably attached to said handle to slide between an inactive parking position and an active working position for working with the supplementary working tool, and sliding controller for holding said slider in said inactive parking position and/or in said active working position and/or in at least one intermediate position. The sliding controller is configured to hold the slider in said at least one intermediate position only.

A cutter system is for an electric shaver and trimmer, comprising a pair of cooperating cutting elements with two rows of comb-like cutting teeth at opposite edges thereof and cutting perforations between said rows of comb-like cutting teeth, wherein said cutting elements are movably supported relative to each other by a support structure. The cutting perforations are arranged in two separated elongated fields of perforations which are separated from each other by an elongated unperforated center section of an outer one of said cutting elements defining a skin contact surface, and each of at least two rows of perforations extends along the rows of comb-like cutting teeth.

A cutter system is for an electric shaver and trimmer, comprising a pair of cooperating cutting elements with two rows of comb-like cutting teeth at opposite edges thereof and cutting perforations between said rows of comb-like cutting teeth, wherein said cutting elements are movably supported relative to each other by a support structure. According to an aspect, there is provided a mounting assembly (20) for a hair cutting appliance (10), the mounting assembly comprising: a head (22) configured to receive a cutting unit and comprising: a body (24) extending along an elongate axis (50): a driving bridge (26) configured to couple to the cutting unit and to reciprocally move relative to the body along the elongate axis to reciprocally move the cutting unit relative to the body; a primary head bearing surface (44); and a separate secondary head bearing surface (52); a counterpart (40) pivotably coupled to the head. the counterpart comprising: a primary counterpart bearing surface (46) configured to cooperate with the primary head bearing surface to permit sliding rotation of the counterpart relative to the head about a first rotational axis (60) which is parallel to the elongate axis, and configured to contact the primary head bearing surface along a contact line to limit movement of the head towards the counterpart along a second axis (30) perpendicular to the first rotational axis; and a secondary counterpart bearing surface (54) separate from the primary counterpart bearing surface and configured to cooperate with the secondary head bearing surface to permit sliding rotation of the counterpart relative to the head about the first rotational axis, and configured to bear against the secondary head bearing surface to limit movement of the head relative to the counterpart along a third axis (70) which is perpendicular to the second axis and the first rotational axis; and a driving unit (34) comprising a driving axle (36) and a socket (38), the driving axle comprising an eccentric pin (42) cooperating with the driving bridge to impart reciprocating motion to the driving bridge, and the socket being configured to cooperate with a motor (14).

An electric shaver includes: a head part, a main body, and a connecting seat. The head part is provided with a first sliding seat capable of transversely sliding back and forth and a first tool carrier configured to install a moving blade. The main body is provided with a drive device with an output shaft therein, a top of the first sliding seat is connected with the first tool carrier, and a bottom of the first sliding seat is connected with the output shaft. After the output shaft rotates, the first sliding seat can be driven to slide back and forth transversely. An end of the connecting seat is connected with the main body, and the other end of the connecting seat is hinged with the head part along a transverse hinge shaft. The shaving ability of the electric shaver is stronger and the user experience is better.

According to an aspect, there is provided a mounting assembly 20 for a hair cutting appliance 10, the mounting assembly comprising: a head 24 configured to receive a cutting unit 14; a base 22 coupled to the head; a pivoting mechanism 30 coupling the base to the head, wherein the pivoting mechanism is configured to permit pivoting movement of the head relative to the base about a head pivot axis 50; and a rotatable locking element 40 configured to be rotated between: an engaged position, in which the locking element obstructs pivoting movement of the head to thereby lock the head in a locked position about the head pivot axis, and a disengaged position in which the locking element does not obstruct pivoting movement of the head such that the head is freely pivotable relative to the base about the head pivot axis; wherein the locking element is configured such that rotating the locking element to the engaged position drives the head into the locked position.
