Apparatus and method for die cutting
A clamshell die press includes a fixed platen, a moving platen installed thereon a cutting blade, and a pad mounted on top of a working surface of the fixed platen, wherein the pad comprises a padding block, wherein the padding block comprises a padding layer composed of a material selected to match a tooth profile of the cutting blade.
Device for punching thin-walled materials
A device by which thin-walled materials, such as labels and flat lids for containers, can be punched in micro or small quantities. The device includes a band steel cutting edge (11) that is elastically mounted in the punching direction. The matrix is likewise elastically held on the matrix plate perpendicular to the punching direction by virtue of a matrix seat (33) fastened to the region in the matrix plate (27) that is adjacent to the opening (29). On the matrix seat, an elastically deformable intermediate plate (47) is placed, and the matrix (55) is placed on the intermediate plate.
Method of making a counter-die cutter, adapting unit for a milling machine and milling machine comprising this unit
A method of making a counter-die cutter for a die cutting machine having a die cutter and respective counter-die cutter includes: acquiring a digital drawing of a die cutter to be made, which is provided with comparing means; acquiring a digital drawing of a respective counter-die cutter to be made; providing a wooden support of the die cutter; making a plurality of comparing means on the support of the die cutter; making the die cutter; detecting the position and/or orientation of the comparing means of the finished die cutter; comparing the detected position and/or orientation with corresponding position and/or orientation of the comparing means being in the digital drawing of the die cutter; modifying the digital drawing of the counter-die cutter based on the detected differences to adapt the digital drawing to the finished die cutter; and making the counter-die cutter based on the modified digital drawing.
Sheet material and punching tape containing same
A sheet material (1) consisting of an mixture consisting essentially of: a) 10-50 percent by weight of random-oriented fibres, and; b) 90-50 percent by weight of a thermoplastic or thermoplastic elastomer; the weight percentages being based on the overall homogeneous mixture; and the sheet material having at room temperature a Shore D hardness of 40 to 85, preferably of 40 to 60, more preferably of 45 to 55. The sheet material (1) is used as a support in punching applications or as the top layer in punching belts (2).
Protective cover including patterned backings
A protective cover includes a padding layer and at least one backing layer comprising a network of fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) threads, wherein a surface of the at least one backing layer is substantially rectangular comprising a first side, and wherein a plurality of the FRP threads are arranged along a direction that is oblique relative to the first side.
DIE BLOCK, STEEL-RULE DIE ASSEMBLY COMPRISING THE SAME, AND METHOD THEREOF
The invention relates to steel-rule cutting dies having a die block with at least one kerf configured to receive a corresponding steel-rule intended to be partially inserted into the kerf. The die block also has at least one element having magnetic properties, such as for instance a magnet, located or embedded in proximity to each kerf for providing a magnetic field that retains the steel-rule when the steel-rule is received into the corresponding kerf. The presence of the magnetic element(s) in proximity to the kerf(s) allows maintaining the corresponding rule(s) in position within its kerf even if the kerf is cut loosely. The corresponding rule may be quickly and easily inserted and accurately maintained even if the die block expand or retract under atmospheric variations. Among other advantages, the invention allows better stability of the cutting-die, faster leveling on press, and increased the number of re-knifing and longer run-time.
Rotary die-cutter for cutting a piece of material out of a printing material
A rotary die-cutter for cutting a piece of material or scrap out of a printing material such as paper, includes a die-cutting cylinder and an associated impression cylinder. The die-cutting cylinder is connected to a vacuum source. A die-cutting tool which is disposed on the die-cutting cylinder includes at least one die-cutting knife having a closed form and a suction opening within the closed form. A cylinder cover is disposed on the impression cylinder. At least one raised or recessed first guide element is disposed within the closed form for guiding suction air and/or at least one recessed or raised second guide element is disposed in the cylinder cover for guiding air. The scrap to be removed from the printing material can therefore be transported with the die-cutting cylinder and ejected from the die-cutting tool or knife in a trouble-free way.
MACHINING PLANAR WORKPIECES
A machine for machining, such as cutting and/or forming, planar workpieces has an upper tool and a lower tool that are movable toward each other to machine a workpiece arranged therebetween. The upper tool includes at least one cutting tool having at least one cutting edge and a clamping shaft. The lower tool includes a main body having a support surface for the workpiece. The support surface has an opening associated with an inner counter cutting edge. The lower tool has a positioning axis and at least one outer counter cutting edge provided outside of the opening and associated with the support surface. The outer counter cutting edge is aligned with an outer face of the support surface. A distance of the outer counter cutting edge from the position axis and a distance of the inner counter cutting edge from the position axis deviate from each other.
