Systems and methods for the construction of structures
Material delivery systems as well as systems and methods relating thereto are disclosed. In an embodiment, the material delivery system includes a tank to hold water therein. In addition, the material delivery system includes a hopper to hold dry ingredients of the extrudable building material therein. Further, the material delivery system includes a mixing unit to receive water from the tank and dry ingredients from the hopper. The mixing unit includes an agitator to mix the water and the dry ingredients together to form the extrudable building material. Still further, the material delivery system includes a controller coupled to the agitator that is to: measure a load imparted to the agitator by the extrudable building material, add additional water to the mixing unit when the load is above a first threshold, and add additional dry ingredients to the mixing unit when the load is below a second threshold.
Volumetric concrete mixing system, equipment, and method
A mobile volumetric concrete mixing system includes a suction system that vacuums up trench spoils while a trench is being cut. These trench spoils are then screened on-site for particle size to be reused and mixed with water, cement, and/or other admixtures at an auger mixer to form a backfill mixture. This backfill mixture may then be loaded into a hopper that continuously agitates the mixture so that the mixture does not harden before pouring. The agitating hopper is coupled to a discharge chute of the auger mixer and includes one or more augers disposed at various orientations that the backfill mixture is channeled through. From the agitating hopper, the backfill mixture is channeled to an applicator that moves along the trench and that enables the mixture to be quickly poured into the trench with little clean-up required.
System and method for making and applying a non-portland cement-based material
A system and method for applying a construction material is provided. The method may include mixing one or more of 4%-45% volcanic rock by weight, greater than 0%-40% latent hydraulic material by weight, 10%-45% alkaline component by weight, and 20%-90% aggregate by weight to produce a dry binding agent mixture, using a dry mixer; and combining the dry binding agent mixture with water at a nozzle to produce a sprayable concrete compound.
Systems and methods for the construction of structures
Construction systems for constructing a structure on a foundation and methods relating thereto are disclosed. In an embodiment, the construction system includes a rail assembly configured to be mounted to the foundation. In addition, the construction system includes a gantry movably disposed on the rail assembly configured to translate along a first axis relative to the rail assembly. Further, the construction system includes a printing assembly movably disposed on the gantry and configured to translate along a second axis relative to the gantry. The second axis is orthogonal to the first axis. The printing assembly is configured to deposit vertically stacked layers of an extrudable building material on the foundation to construct the structure. The gantry has a width along the second axis that is configured to be adjusted relative to the foundation.
System and method for making and applying a non-Portland-cement-based material
A system and method for applying a construction material is provided. The method may include mixing blast furnace slag material, geopolymer material, alkali-based powder, and sand at a mixing device to generate a non-Portland cement-based material. The method may also include transporting the non-Portland cement-based material from the mixing device, through a conduit to a nozzle and combining the transported non-Portland cement-based material with water at the nozzle to generate a partially liquefied non-Portland cement-based material. The method may further include pneumatically applying the partially liquefied non-Portland cement-based material to a surface.

Mobile continuous mixing apparatus with linearly aligned feed belts
A continuous mixer that is installed in the bed of a dump truck. The mixer has a hopper for cement, a pair of belts to move the other mixing materials, and a chute with an auger for mixing the cement and mixing materials with water and depositing the mixture where desired. The hopper stands upright in the bed when the bed is down and tilted at about 45° when the bed is up. An auger at the bottom of the hopper feeds cement to an opening at the bottom of the hopper, The belts sit below the hopper and are oriented with the belts parallel to the ground during operation, The belts feed mixing materials from the bed to a mixing chute below the belts. An auger combines the dry materials and water to form the concrete as they travel the length of the chute to the discharge end.
