Method for manufacturing a tyre blank by means of a ply comprising two rubbers
A method for manufacturing a raw blank of a tyre includes using a calender to produce a ply. The calender includes two rollers with a gap situated therebetween. A ply that includes a first rubber material is formed in the gap of the calender, with a bead of the first rubber material being formed upstream of the gap. The bead and the gap of the calender are fed with a second rubber material, different from the first rubber material, to form at least one insert in the ply.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING AND TESTING WORKPIECES
A method and an apparatus manufactures and tests workpieces. The apparatus is mountable on or includes a system for mixing or melting materials. The apparatus includes application units and a replacement system that is designed to automatically replace application units in respect of the position or function thereof.
Hydration systems and methods
A substantially continuous stream of aqueous fluid and a substantially continuous stream of gel having a first concentration are combined to form a substantially continuous stream of gel having a second concentration. The second concentration is substantially lower than the first concentration. The gel having the second concentration may thereafter be utilized in conjunction with a well fracturing operation.

Adhesive composition and method
An adhesive composition contains a block copolymer hot melt adhesive and a vapor releasing vapor corrosion inhibitor mixed with the block copolymer hot melt adhesive, the vapor corrosion inhibitor being in the form of particles suspended in the adhesive composition, the particles preferably having a maximum dimension of less than about 30 microns. One improvement results from inclusion in the adhesive mixture of a titanium and/or zirconium containing coupling agent, either separately or as part of the VCI particles. Another improvement results from blending the adhesive mixture in a continuous process using for example a twin screw extruder. As a result, the adhesive mixture has better uniformity and superior viscosity properties during use.

Liquid crystal polyester composition, method for producing liquid crystal polyester composition, and molded article
A liquid crystal polyester composition contains: a liquid crystal polyester in an amount of 100 parts by mass as well as a fibrous filler and a plate-like filler in an amount of not less than 65 parts by mass and not more than 100 parts by mass in total. The fibrous filler in the composition has a number average fiber diameter of not less than 5 μm and not more than 15 μm and a number average fiber length of more than 200 μm and less than 400 μm. The mass ratio of the fibrous filler to the plate-like filler in the composition is not less than 3 and not more than 15. The flow starting temperature of the composition is not lower than 250° C. and lower than 314° C.
Device for the successive introduction of additives into a polymer granulate and use of the device
The invention focuses on a device for sequentially introducing additives in a polymer granulate and the use of the device for mixing the polymer granulate with the additives. The device consisting of a mixer with housing, comprising at least one mixer shaft attached in helix arranged non-continuous conveying pattern shapes, being rotated by a drive for the transport, whereby the mixer in the housing featuring an inlet for the polymer granulate to be mixed and each of the several subsequent inlets for the additive is followed by an outlet for the polymer granulate mixed with the additive, so that two or several mixing zones being formed in the mixer and whereby at least between at two mixing zones on the surface of the mixing shaft one section featuring a continuous screw conveyor instead of the non-continuous conveying pattern shapes, the section not being penetrable for returning solids from the subsequent mixing zone.

MULTI-CHANNEL GRAVIMETRIC BATCH BLENDER
A weighing apparatus for the preparation of a mixture of granular components that comprise batches of material required by a plurality of processing machines in a plant for the manufacture of plastic products is described. The apparatus comprises a Multi-Channel Gravimetric Batch Blender (MCGBB) configured to weigh predetermined weights of the raw materials and to combine the weighed portions of raw materials into batches according to a predetermined recipe for each processing machine and a computer that controls the operation of all components of the MCGBB. The MCGBB comprises several weighing units arranged in a way that allows material weighed in each of the weighing units to fall through individual chutes via a common funnel into a manifold that distributes the weighed batches to several processing machines via a system of delivery pipes.
