PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR DIRECT CRYSTALLIZATION OF POLYCONDENSATES
The present invention relates to a process for continuous production of partly crystalline polycondensate pellet material, comprising the steps of forming a polycondensate melt into pellet material; separating the liquid cooling medium from the pellet material in a first treatment space, wherein the pellets after exit from the first treatment space exhibit a temperature T.sub.GR, and crystallizing the pellet material in a second treatment space, wherein in the second treatment space fluidized bed conditions exist, and in the second treatment space the pellets are heated by supply of energy from the exterior by means of a process gas.
Method and device for extrusion of hollow pellets
Described herein are extrusion processes to produce hollow pellets. Also disclosed are pelletizer devices that can be used to produce the hollow pellets. The processes and devices make use of an extrusion die having a die orifice and an insert that is placed in the die orifice to produce the hollow pellets.
PROCESS FOR PREPARING A POLYOLEFIN COMPOSITION
A process for continuously preparing a polyolefin composition made from or containing a bimodal or multimodal polyolefin and one or more additives in an extruder device equipped with at least one hopper. The process includes the steps of supplying a bimodal or multimodal polyolefin in form of a polyolefin powder to the hopper; (a) measuring the flow rate of the polyolefin powder or (b) measuring the flow rate of the prepared polyolefin pellets; supplying one or more additives to the hopper; adjusting the flow rates of the additives supplied to the hopper in response to the measured flow rate of the polyolefin powder or adjusting the flow rate of the polyolefin powder in response to the measured flow rate of the polyolefin pellets; melting and homogenizing the polyolefin powder and additives within the extruder device; and pelletizing the molten polyolefin composition into the polyolefin pellets.
PROCESS AND SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING PET GRANULES
A process and a system for producing polyethylene terephthalate (PET) granules by transesterification of dimethyl terephthalate with ethylene glycol or by esterification of (fiber) purified terephthalic acid with ethylene glycol suitable for further processing to form packaging films and bottles, comprising the steps of polycondensation, granulation and latent heat crystallization, aftertreatment of the crude granules to adjust the polymer quality values required for the further processing, in particular the intrinsic viscosity, the acetaldehyde content and the moisture content, wherein the aftertreatment is carried out in multiple moving bed tubular reactors operated in parallel.
RESIN PELLETIZER DEVICE AND CAVITATION MONITORING METHOD
Provided is a resin pelletizer device capable of monitoring cavitation. A resin pelletizer device (100) includes a die (6) including a die surface (61) in which die holes (63) are formed, rotary blades (21) that rotate on the die surface (61) in the water, thereby cutting resin extruded from the die holes (63) in the water into a pellet form, a sensor (150) that detects an elastic wave generated during the rotation of the rotary blades (21) on the die surface (61), and a determination unit (121) that monitors an output value of the sensor (150), and determines that cavitation occurs when the output value of the sensor (150) becomes less than a predetermined threshold.
Expanded Polymer Pellets
The invention refers to a method for producing expanded polymer pellets, which comprises the following steps: melting a polymer comprising a polyamide; adding at least one blowing agent; expanding the melt through at least one die for producing an expanded polymer; and pelletizing the expanded polymer. The invention further concerns polymer pellets produced with the method as well as their use, e.g. for the production of cushioning elements for sports apparel, such as for producing soles or parts of soles of sports shoes. A further aspect of the invention concerns a method for the manufacture of molded components, comprising loading pellets of an expanded polymer material into a mold, and connecting the pellets by providing heat energy, wherein the expanded polymer material of the pellets or beads comprises a chain extender. The molded components may be used in broad ranges of application.
FOAMS BASED ON THERMOPLASTIC POLYURETHANES
A process can be used for recycling foams based on thermoplastic polyurethane.
Method for manufacturing cross-linkable polyethylene compounds
Installation for manufacturing cross-linkable polyethylene compounds which comprises a melting machine (101), a melt pump (102) and a filtration unit (103). The installation allows to produce cross-linkable polyethylene compounds that may be further used for manufacturing insulating parts of medium, high and extra-high voltage power cables. A method for manufacturing cross-linkable polyethylene compounds is further provided.
Integrated Preparation Process for Producing Polyglycolic Acid Products
The invention relates to an integrated process for producing a polyglycolic acid product, including polymerization, modification and molding. The resulting polyglycolic acid product may maintain the physical and chemical properties of polyglycolic acid to the greatest extent, including yellowness index (YI), weight-average molecular weight, strength and mean square radius of rotation. Also provided are the polyglycolic acid product and apparatus for carrying out the integrated process.
