A purging agent that has excellent purging performance without generation of aggregate is disclosed as a purging agent used in a purging operation where a resin to be processed contains a polar group-containing thermoplastic resin. This purging agent contain a hydrocarbon-based resin, and at least one metal salt among an alkaline metal salt and alkaline earth metal salt, has a water content of 0.15% by weight or less, and includes 0.1 to 20% by weight of the metal salt expressed as the metal relative to the hydrocarbon-based resin.

Maintenance station for casting molds and maintenance method for a casting mold

A maintenance station for casting molds is provided with a handling device on which a spraying device is disposed. The spraying device sprays a cleaning medium onto a surface of at least one casting mold. The cleaning medium is a mixture of compressed air and abrasive particles. A maintenance method for the casting mold in the maintenance station is also provided.

The nonflammable solvent comprises: about 90.0 wt. % to about 99.99 wt. % of trans-1,2-dichloroethylene; and about 0.01 wt. % to less than about 10.0 wt. % of one or more of (E)-1-chloro-2,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-ene and (Z)-1-chloro-2,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-ene, based on the total weight of trans-1,2-dichloroethylene, (E)-1-chloro-2,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-ene, and (Z)-1-chloro-2,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-ene. The nonflammable solvent composition has no fire point as determined by flammability testing compliant with any one or more of ASTM D92 or ASTM D1310.

A nonflammable solvent composition comprises, based on the total weight of trans-1,2-dichloroethylene, (E)-1-chloro-2,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-ene, and (Z)-1-chloro-2,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-ene: about 80 wt. % to about 99.99 wt. % of trans-1,2-dichloroethylene; and about 0.01 wt. % to about 20 wt. % of at least one of (E)-1-chloro-2,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-ene or (Z)-1-chloro-2,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-ene; wherein the nonflammable solvent composition has no fire point over a temperature range of 10 C. to the boiling point of the solvent composition, measured according to any one or more of ASTM D92-18, ASTM D1310-14, or ASTM D56-22. Methods for preparing a nonflammable solvent composition from trans-1,2-dichloroethylene and for increasing the fire point of trans-1,2-dichloroethylene comprises mixing the trans-1,2-dichloroethylene with about 0.01 wt. % to about 20 wt. % of at least one of (E)-1-chloro-2,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-ene or (Z)-1-chloro-2,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-ene to form a nonflammable solvent composition having no fire point over a temperature range of 10 C. to the boiling point of the solvent composition.

A resin composition for cleaning molding machines that achieves both high cleaning power for the material mold-processed before cleaning and easy replacement to the material to be mold-processed after cleaning, improves stable raw material feedability, has metered purging suitability, and has improved workability by suppressing spurt and emission of fume from a molding machine during the cleaning process is provided. To achieve the object, the present disclosure is a resin composition for cleaning molding machines including a thermoplastic resin (A), a synthetic wax (B), and a polyolefin-based resin (C), wherein an absolute value of a difference between solubility parameters of (A) and (B) is 2.0 (cal/cm.sup.3).sup.1/2 or more and 7.0 (cal/cm.sup.3).sup.1/2 or less, a compounding amount of (C) is more than 0.1 mass % and less than 10 mass %, and a glass transition temperature of (C) is higher than 150 C. and lower than 40 C.
