LIQUID DISPENSING SYSTEM
A liquid dispensing apparatus for applying liquid products to row crops. The liquid dispensing apparatus includes a plurality of drop assemblies supported by and laterally spaced along a boom structure. Each of the drop assemblies includes dribble hoses for dribbling a liquid product onto the soil in a rhizosphere of adjacent crop rows. The drop assemblies may include a spray assembly for spraying the row crops. The dribble hoses may be supported by a base unit with positionable support brackets
Automatic rank selection
A controller communicates with a user interface and sends a first signal to a first actuator to unlock a first lock, sends a second signal to move a first ground-engaging implement into a stowed position, sends a third signal to the first actuator to lock first lock to retain the first ground-engaging implement in the stowed position, sends a fourth signal to inhibit flow through a first hose with a flow blocking element, sends a fifth signal to a second actuator to unlock a second lock, sends a sixth signal to move a second ground-engaging implement into a deployed position, sends a seventh signal to the second actuator to lock the second lock to retain the second ground-engaging implement in the deployed position, and sends an eighth signal to a second flow blocking element to permit flow through a second hose around the flow blocking element.
Implement mounted sensors to increase seeding productivity
An agricultural implement having a row unit and a material throw monitoring system. The row unit includes a ground engaging tool configured to engage with a ground at a ground engaging point to form a trench, and a conduit configured to deposit an agricultural product in the trench. The material throw monitoring system includes a sensor and a controller. The sensor is oriented toward the ground engaging point and configured to provide feedback to the controller based at least in part on material displaced by the ground engaging tool. The controller is configured to determine a throw distance of the material relative to the ground engaging tool based on the feedback from the sensor, determine an action to adjust operation of the agricultural implement based on a comparison of the throw distance with a threshold, and communicate the action with a controller coupled to the agricultural implement.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SELECTIVE MATERIAL PLACEMENT
Locations of seeds in a field can be identified using event-based processing or frequency-based processing. A material is applied to the field, based upon the seed locations.
Gauge Wheel System
The present invention relates generally to agricultural devices, and in particular, to a gauge wheel system for use in an agricultural device. In one aspect of the invention there is provided a gauge wheel for use on cultivation equipment comprising a hub member having a central bearing portion for mounting to the cultivation equipment; a peripheral flange portion displaced laterally with respect to the hub member; and a resilient coil member mounted to a surface of the hub member at a proximal end and comprising at least two windings that extend between the hub member and the peripheral flange portion to terminate at a free distal end adjacent the peripheral flange portion; wherein the free distal end of the resilient coil member is constrained to prevent contact of the resilient coil member with the peripheral flange portion.
Smart sensor system for seeding implement
An agricultural planting or seeding implement that includes a ground engaging tool that forms a trench in a field. The ground engaging tool includes a blade that forms the trench. A first conduit couples to the blade. The first conduit deposits agricultural product in the field. A sensor couples to the ground engaging tool. The sensor generates a signal indicative of a soil property of the field.
VERTICAL FARM SEEDING APPARATUS AND METHOD
A seeding apparatus for seeding agricultural seeds, seedlings and/or clones into a manufactured growth media of an indoor hydroponic growth system. The seeding apparatus including a media strip supply line configured to supply a quantity of consumable media strip for positioning within a linear aperture of a manufactured growth media, a depth gauge configured to fold the consumable media strip into a first part and a second part with a fold positioned therebetween, and to force the fold towards a bottom of the linear aperture of the manufactured growth media with the first part and the second part of the consumable media strip residing against walls defined by the linear aperture, and a seed supply line configured to introduce a metered quantity of agricultural seeds, seedlings and/or clones into the folded, consumable media strip.
Aerodynamic and Centrifugal Seed Orientation System for Agricultural Planters
A seed orientation apparatus and system has a seed transfer tube that receives randomly oriented seeds from an agricultural row planter seed meter and moves seeds from a seed collector to a curved pathway in a seed orientation coil assembly. The seed orientation coil assembly uses some combination of aerodynamics, centrifugal force, and path geometry to align the seed. The aligned seed is stabilized and entrained in an air stream and is subsequently discharged into a wedge-shaped furrow, detrained from the air stream, and wedged in the furrow before being covered by a closing wheel, thereby planting the aligned seed into the soil while achieving tip-down seed orientation with the germ facing an adjacent row. The seed orientation apparatus and system may be retrofitted onto existing planter row units. A method of planting is also described.
SEED OPENER HAVING A SINGULATION TUBE INCORPORATED WITHIN
An opener configured to be coupled to an agricultural implement is provided. The opener includes a first passage configured for pneumatic delivery of a first agricultural product. The first passage is defined by a first wall. The first passage includes a first outlet for the first agricultural product. The opener also includes a second passage configured for singulated delivery of a second agricultural product. The second passage is defined by a second wall. The second wall of the second passage is disposed within the first wall of the first passage.
High flow fertilizer/air meter with secondary nozzling
Agricultural implements are used to transport material, such as inputs in the form of fertilizer, seed, treatment, or some combination thereof, to row units that apply the material to an area of a field. Metering systems can aid in metering and providing a desired amount of material, such as on-demand, to the row units. The metering systems move the metered material to the row units, such as with pneumatics or other fluids. The metering system can be improved by having primary and secondary nozzles of different sizes, which aid in increasing the speed of the fluid moving the material towards the row units. For example, a smaller diameter for the secondary nozzle will provide improved suction and air speed.
