A system for producing foams for prosthetics and orthotics include a heated housing that stores monomer containers, temperature-controlled hoses separately coupled with the containers and configured to receive monomers from the containers, a dispensing gun assembly fluidly coupled with the containers by the hoses, and a computer controller configured to control a dispensing time period during which the monomers are dispensed from the containers and through the hoses to the dispensing gun assembly and dispensed out of the dispensing gun assembly as a polymer foam. The controller is configured to stop dispensing of the polymer foam out of the dispensing gun assembly upon expiration of the dispensing time period.

System and method for forming a polyurethane foam including on demand introduction of additive to resin component

A system and method for forming a polyurethane foam includes supplying an isocyanate component from a source of isocyanate to a proportioner. A resin component from a source of resin is supplied to a metering unit and an additive having an unstable state from a source of additive is supplied to the metering unit. The resin component and the additive form a reactive mixture when combined. The system and method includes delivering the reactive mixture by the metering unit to an accumulator and storing the reactive mixture in the accumulator. The system and method further includes demanding a supply of the reactive mixture with the proportioner and supplying the reactive mixture by the accumulator to the proportioner and mixing the reactive mixture with the isocyanate component by the proportioner to form the polyurethane foam.

The invention relates to a method of injecting polyurethane, where the contents of two cylinders (2) of polyol and isocyanate are mixed in a static mixer (3). The mixed amount of polyurethane is injected with a gun (1) into a hole and at the appropriate points for joining the fittings. The injection can be done in horizontal hanging lines that run through the roof, in vertical columns, but also in any other case as judged by the applying person.

METHODS, SYSTEMS AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCTS FOR PRODUCTION AND APPLICATION OF SPRAY FOAM USING OPTICAL AND INFRARED IMAGING

Disclosed are methods, systems and computer program products for producing and applying a spray foam producing mixture onto a surface, and imaging a spray cone, or the applied surface, using an infrared or an optical imaging device to capture an image, and then determining, based on the captured image, if a defect that requires correction exists in the spray cone or in the applied surface; and optionally, in response to determining that a defect requiring correction exists, modifying a process parameter in producing or applying spray foam.

A combined additive manufacturing method applicable to parts and molds relates to moldless-growth manufacturing of parts and molds, which includes steps of: S1: layering and slicing a three-dimensional CAD (computer-aided design) model of a workpiece to be formed according to shape, thickness and dimensional accuracy requirements of the workpiece, so as to obtain a plurality of layered slice data; S2: planning a forming path according to the layered slice data, and generating layered slice numerical control codes for forming; and S3: deposition-forming a powder material on a substrate layer-by-layer and performing pressure forming or milling forming according to the layered slice numerical control codes in the step S2, which uses a numerically controlled high-speed cold spray gun to spray the powder material to a determined position for deposition-forming. The method of the present invention overcomes thermally induced adverse effects of hot processing and drawbacks of cold spray deposition.

A method can be used to improve the quality of a foam, produced in a process for continuous production of foams using a surfactant with higher molecular weight as an additive in an aqueous polymer dispersion. The process involves foaming a mixture of the aqueous polymer dispersion and the surfactant, and the mixture is mixed in a foaming machine with a mixing head line speed of less than 4 m/s. The process additionally involves mixing the foam obtained from the foaming machine in an auxiliary inline mixer connected to the foaming machine, at a mixing head line speed of 5?50 m/s. A process for continuous production of foams and a continuous production line are also provided.
