A seed spreading device for use with a combine harvester that has a residue distribution system which has a hopper enclosure, metering device, motor, and a guide tube with an end in communication with a residue distribution system. A metering device has a first opening and second opening with a delivery feeder disposed between the openings. Seeds in the hopper enclosure enter the first opening of the metering device through an aperture in the hopper enclosure. A motor is operatively connected to the delivery feeder which moves seeds from the first opening to the second opening of the metering device into a guide tube disposed proximate thereto. The guide tube delivers seed from the metering device into the residue distribution system of the combine harvester to be deposited during a harvesting process.

The cultivation method can make the most of light, heat, water, and fertilizer resources, and precisely optimize the plant spacing, row spacing, and seeding depth during seeding to integrate mechanized seeding management of winter wheat in Huang-huai-hai region, achieving objectives of building excellent crop community and increasing yield and efficiency.

Furthermore, the row unit may include a cultivator coupled to the frame and positioned aft of the furrow-forming tool relative to a direction of travel of the row unit. The cultivator may, in turn, be configured to agitate a lateral swath of the soil. Additionally, the row unit may include a second dispensing device positioned aft of the first dispensing device relative to the direction of travel, with the second dispensing device configured to dispense a second agricultural product into the field.

The agitator can include one or more arms that oscillate through a sweep angle to move one or more paddles through the seeds. An outlet of the hopper can be within the sweep angle such that the arms and paddles sweep seeds into the outlet as the arms oscillate within the hopper. The sweep angle can vary over time by incrementally increasing the sweep angle during several stages. The varying sweep angle maintains consistent seed mixing and spreading over time.
