Gauge wheel assembly with hinge
A hinge for a gauge wheel arm for movably swinging the gauge wheel away from the agricultural equipment, such as an agricultural planter, is disclosed. The hinge is located along the length of the gauge wheel arm for rotating the gauge wheel away from the agricultural equipment to expose an inner surface of the gauge wheel and an interior portion of the agricultural equipment. The gauge wheel arm rotates about an angle of rotation formed by the hinge and permitting rotation between 0 and 180 degrees. The gauge wheel arm may also include a lock bolt for preventing rotation of the gauge wheel when desired.
Gauge wheel arrangement for a seeder row unit
One row unit for an agricultural implement includes a ground engaging tool configured to penetrate soil and to form a furrow in the soil. The row unit also includes gauge wheels disposed adjacent to the ground engaging tool and configured to enable the ground engaging tool to penetrate the soil at a selectable penetration depth. Each of the gauge wheels extends substantially parallel to a direction of travel of the row unit.
SYSTEMS AND APPARATUSES FOR SOIL AND SEED MONITORING
A soil apparatus (e.g., seed firmer) having a locking system is described herein. In one embodiment, the soil apparatus includes a lower base portion for engaging in soil of an agricultural field, an upper base portion, and a neck portion having protrusions to insert into the lower base portion of a base and then lock when a region of the upper base portion is inserted into the lower base portion and this region of the upper base portion presses the protrusions to lock the neck portion to the upper base portion.
ROW CLEANER
A row cleaner assembly includes an upper subframe mounted to an agricultural planter forward of the planter row unit and longitudinally aligned with the trench opening assembly. A lower subframe rotatably supports first and second row cleaner wheels. An intermediate subframe is pivotally connected at a forward end to the upper subframe and is pivotally connected at a rearward end to the lower subframe. A first and second linkages are pivotally connected at a forward end to the upper subframe and are pivotally connected at a rearward end to the lower subframe. An actuator system is capable of applying a downforce and an optional lift force to the lower subframe. The row cleaner assembly may include a gauge wheel supported by a rear strut subframe. The row cleaner assembly may include a depth selector to change the depth of penetration of the row cleaner wheels into the soil surface.
FRAME ADJUSTMENT CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR POSITION
An agricultural machine includes a main frame, a rotate frame, and a row unit. A control method for the machine includes: selecting at least one of: (i) a desired position-based relationship between a portion of the rotate frame and the row unit, and (ii) a desired downforce of the row unit; determining at least one of: (i) an actual position-based relationship defined between the rearward portion of the rotate frame and the row unit, and (ii) an actual downforce of the row unit; and adjusting at least one of: (i) the actual position-based relationship toward the desired position-based relationship, and (ii) the actual downforce of the row unit toward the desired downforce of the row unit; wherein adjusting the actual position-based relationship and adjusting the actual downforce of the row both include moving the rotate frame relative to the main frame of the agricultural machine.
ROW PLANTER WITH ADJUSTABLE GAUGE WHEELS
Adjustable gauge wheels are provided on a row unit planter adjacent the opening disc. The wheels are adjustable laterally for proper spacing adjacent the discs. The camber of the gauge wheels relative to discs is also adjustable. The lateral adjustment is accomplished via a wear bushing and pivot bushing extending into the wear bushing for each gauge wheel. A grease zerk is provided on the end of each pivot bushing to supply grease to the inside of the adjustment wear bushing. The camber adjustment is accomplished via a slot in the row planter frame and bolts extending into arms on a pivotal member.
IMPROVEMENTS TO OPENERS FOR SEEDERS
Openers for a seeder, configured to be adjustably engaged with a soil surface when in use; each opener having compliance to vertical and lateral excessive forces independently applied to soil-engaging parts: a fertiliser tine, a seed tine, a press wheel, a coulter, and a support wheel. The openers share a hydraulic circuit, linked to each internal frame-lifting ram so that localised rise and fall effects arising from soil surface irregularities are shared, maintaining a mean height. The seed tine of each opener is made liftable immediately the preceding fertiliser tine is displaced. The openers do not require external weight support.
Supporting device for a seed follower
A supporting device for supporting a furrow device and/or for connecting the same to a seed tube of a seed planting unit is described. The supporting device may include a connection element and an alignment element joined to the connection element. The connection element may include a connection feature and a stand feature. The connection feature may be configured to attach the furrow device to the supporting device. The stand feature may be configured to position the furrow device at a desired angle relative to the furrow. The alignment element may include an alignment feature and a positioning feature. The alignment feature may be configured to axially align a longitudinal axis of the supporting device with a longitudinal axis of the seed tube. The positioning feature may be configured to position the furrow device at a desired location along a longitudinal dimension of the seed tube.
INFEED CHUTES FOR MATERIAL APPLICATION MACHINES
An infeed chute for a material application machine includes a riser and a water spreading unit. The riser includes a sidewall and defines an infeed opening extending through the riser. The riser is configured to be coupled to an opening of a tank of a material application machine such that application material passed through the infeed opening of the riser enters the tank of the material application machine. The sidewall includes a water inlet formed therein. The water spreading unit is coupled to the water inlet and is configured to direct water laterally across the infeed chute.
ROW UNIT MOUNTING SYSTEM
Apparatuses, systems, and methods for coupling a row unit to a frame of an agricultural implement are disclosed. A row unit, such as a planter row unit may be coupled to a frame of an agricultural planter by engagement between mounting features of the planter row unit to one or more rails formed on a frame of the agricultural planter. One or more of the mounting features may be movable relative to one or more other mounting features in order to secure the planting row unit to the frame of the agricultural planter.
