Pad comprising an extruded mesh and method of making thereof
10786970 · 2020-09-29 · ·

A structure for use in a compressible resilient pad. The structure contains both axially elastomeric strands and relatively inelastic strands co-extruded in various patterns. The structure has a high degree of both compressibility under an applied normal load and excellent recovery (resiliency or spring back) upon removal of that load.

MULTILAYER POLYMERIC STRUCTURES

A multilayer composite structure is disclosed. The multilayer composite structure has at least one polymer-based cap layer containing, for example, an acrylic, styrenic or acrylonitrile polymer and at least one polyester-based inner or substrate layer. Also disclosed are methods of forming the multilayer composite structure to improve and control the level of adhesion between the layers. Optional tie layers can be used to improve and control the level of adhesion between the layers. An optional exterior layer over the cap layer can contain polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) polymers. The multilayer composite structure combines the attributes of both polymersthe high UV stability, scratch resistance, and excellent appearance of the polymer-based outer cap layer and the strength and impact resistance of the polyester-based interior layer.

METHOD OF FABRICATING A DECOR

A method of fabricating a dcor for use in a thermopressed panel, the method including applying a first coating onto a substrate, placing an element having a structured surface onto the first coating, curing the first coating to form an intermediate product having a surface texture, removing the element, applying a second coating, and curing the second coating to embed the obtained surface texture. A panel produced according to the method can have a flat outer surface and internal texture showing a visual 3D effect.

System and method for making a capped variegated structure
10688705 · 2020-06-23 · ·

In a system and method for making a capped structure having a variegated cap layer a layer of cap materials is applied to a substrate and pin stripes are applied onto the cap layer through an extrusion die. After these materials exit the extrusion die they are passed through a single opening in a die plate to create a capped structure having a variegated appearance. This capped structure has a smooth surface that enables an embosser to create a consistent embossing pattern on the entire surface.

Method for producing silicone multi-layer composites

Multilayer silicone composites with precise thickness are produced by sequential extrusion of curable silicone films, and partially but not fully crosslinking a preceding silicone film prior to extruding a next subsequent film.
