Method for producing plastic products by means of an extruder, and shaping system
The invention relates to a process for the production of articles, exemplarily a plastic article, by means of an extruder (1) to which a first plastic composition of a first main component and at least one associated minor component is supplied from a first group of dosing stations (21, 24). According to the invention, during the production time of a first production order there is prepared a second group of dosing stations (31, 33) at the extruder for a second production order for which a second plastic composition of a second main component and at least one associated minor component that is different from the first plastic composition has to be supplied to the extruder. After completion of the first production order it is reset to the second production order by terminating the supply of the first plastic composition by closing a first shut-off device (8) and starting the supply of the second plastic composition by opening a second shut-off device (8′).
Method of manufacturing electrical cable, and resulting product, with reduced required installation pulling force
Disclosed are cable types, including a type THHN cable, the cable types having a reduced surface coefficient of friction, and the method of manufacture thereof, in which the central conductor core and insulating layer are surrounded by a material containing nylon or thermosetting resin. A silicone based pulling lubricant for said cable, or alternatively, erucamide or stearyl erucamide for small cable gauge wire, is incorporated, by alternate methods, with the resin material from which the outer sheath is extruded, and is effective to reduce the required pulling force between the formed cable and a conduit during installation.
Extruder screw having paths within the screw, extruder, and extrusion method
A conveyance portion, a barrier portion, and a path are provided at places of a portion of a screw main body in which a kneading portion is provided. In at least one of the places, an entrance is opened to cause raw materials, conveyance of which is limited by a barrier portion to increase pressure on the raw materials, to flow in. The raw materials flowing in from the entrance flow through the path in the opposite direction to a conveyance direction of the conveyance portion. An exit is opened in an outer circumferential surface of the screw main body at a position outside the conveyance portion in which the entrance is opened.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING BULKED CONTINUOUS FILAMENT FROM COLORED RECYLED PET
A system comprising: (1) a grinding unit configured to receive and grind recycled PET bottles into a group of polymer flakes comprising up to about ten percent colored polymer flakes and balance substantially clear polymer flakes; (2) a washing unit configured to wash the group of polymer flakes; and (3) an extruder configured to extrude material in a plurality of different extrusion streams. The extruder may be further configured to: (1) receive a concentrate-polymer mixture comprising a mixture of the polymer flakes and a color concentrate; (2) melt the concentrate-polymer mixture to produce a polymer melt; (3) reduce a pressure within the extruder; and (4) pass the polymer melt through the extruder so that the polymer melt is divided into the plurality of extrusion streams. The system may then filter the polymer melt through at least one filter and form the polymer melt into bulked continuous carpet filament.
METHOD AND EXTRUSION APPARATUS FOR EXTRUSION OF FIBER-REINFORCED PLASTIC MATERIAL FOR THE ADDITIVE MANUFACTURE OF A COMPONENT
A method and an apparatus for extrusion of fiber-reinforced plastic material for the additive manufacture of a component is disclosed. The fiber-reinforced plastic material is supplied to the extrusion apparatus and heated in a heating zone of the extrusion apparatus in order to then supply the fiber-reinforced plastic material to an extrusion nozzle of the extrusion apparatus, at which a material thread comprising fiber-reinforced plastic material is extruded for the component to be manufactured. In order to convey the fiber-reinforced plastic material through the heating zone, a screw conveyor of the extrusion apparatus is utilized, which has a length-diameter ratio of less than a set value. In the heating zone a maximum volume is provided for the fiber-reinforced plastic material and a rotational speed of the screw conveyor is limited to a maximum of speed.
MODULAR EXTRUSION SYSTEM FOR FORMING AN ARTICLE
A modular extrusion system for forming an article includes a support frame and a plurality of print head modules removably connected to the support frame. Each of the print head modules includes a printer head, a printer nozzle, a hopper, and an integrated control module. The hoppers are configured for holding a plurality of polymer pellets. The printer heads of the plurality of print head modules each include a body defining a barrel, a rotating extrusion screw extending through the barrel, and one or more heaters at least partially surrounding the barrel for melting the plurality of polymer pellets into a polymer resin formulation. The printer nozzles are configured for printing and depositing the polymer resin formulation onto a substrate to form the article. The modular extrusion system also includes a control system communicatively coupled to each of the integrated control modules for controlling the modular extrusion system.
APPARATUS AND PROCESS FOR MIXING GRANULES AND/OR POWDERS AND/OR LIQUIDS IN RUBBER PRODUCTION PLANTS
An apparatus and process or mixing granules and/or powders and/or liquids in rubber production plants, including: a mixer/extruder device for the production of a basic heterogeneous mixture; a plurality of distribution lines associated with said mixer/extruder device to supply the device itself with respective powdered and/or granulated and/or liquid products; the mixer/extruder device mixing the powdered and/or granulated and/or liquid products to obtain said heterogeneous mixture; at least one distribution line of a powdered product includes a pre-mixer arranged upstream of said mixer/extruder device to pre-mix said powdered product with at least one liquid product, preferably oil.
