A base assembly configured to cooperate with an injection blow molding machine for forming a polymeric container from a preform by injection blow molding. The base assembly includes a base insert defining a base mold configured to form a base of the polymeric container during injection blow molding. The base insert is slidably seated within the base assembly. The base insert is slidably movable between a retracted position and an extended position during injection blow molding of the polymeric container.

METHOD OF PROCESSING A PLASTIC CONTAINER TO INCREASE INTERNAL PRESSURE

A method of processing a plastic container to increase internal pressure including blow-molding the container to comprise an invertible panel in the base and a standing ring, hot filling and sealing the container, feeding the container into an apparatus with a holding device and forcing a volume reduction and pressure increase into the container, and stacking the containers in bulk pallets on top of one another to increase top load and create a positive pressure within the distribution load of containers.

Process for the production of a fuel tank and fuel tank

The invention concerns a process for the production of a container, in particular a fuel tank of thermoplastic material, by extrusion blow molding, wherein during shaping of the container within a multi-part tool the container is provided with at least one connecting element passing through the wall thereof, wherein with at least a part of the connecting element as a lost shaping male die the wall of the container is displaced from one side into a tool placed on the oppositely side of the container wall and removed. The invention further concerns a fuel tank with at least one connecting element which is connected to the tank wall at least in region-wise manner by intimate joining of the materials involved.
