BONDING METHOD

A bonding method bonds a buffer member to an adherend member, and includes: an adhesive application step of applying an adhesive to a part of the buffer member, the part being bonded to the adherend member; a first heating step of heating a part of the adherend member, the part being bonded to the buffer member; a second heating step of heating the part of the adherend member after the first heating step; and an attachment step of attaching the buffer member to the adherend member after the second heating step.

The present invention relates to a method for producing a laminate having a backing sheet and a decorative paper arranged on the backing sheet, including the steps of: a) providing the backing sheet, b) scattering at least one layer of at least one powdered resin onto at least one side of the backing sheet, the surface of the side of the backing sheet that is to be scattered with the powdered resin being unsmoothed, c) placing at least one decorative paper onto the side of the backing sheet that is provided with the powdered resin, and d) pressing the layered structure including the backing sheet, the powdered resin and the decorative paper. The present invention likewise relates to a laminate that can be produced by this method.

Apparatuses and methods for bonding substrates

An apparatus includes a drum that rotates about an axis and rotating an anvil roll that rotates about an axis of rotation. The drum includes a fluid nozzle and a press member, the press member having an outer surface. The anvil roll includes a compliant outer circumferential surface. First and second substrates are advanced in a machine direction onto the drum. The fluid nozzle moves radially outward and a jet of heated fluid may be directed onto the substrates. The fluid nozzle retracts radially inward and the press member may be shifted radially outward. The substrates may be compressed between the press member and the anvil roll such that the press member deforms the compliant outer circumferential surface of the anvil roll.

Foam Heating System

A foam assembly system is provided. The system is configured to heat a surface of foam. After the heating of the foam, an adhesive is applied, typically a high solids adhesive. The foam is then bonded to another foam surface. It has been found that the pre-heating of the foam before adhesive application greatly enhances the bond strength between the foam and the second foam surface to which it is adhered.

Fastening element for attaching to a wall

A fastening element for attaching to a wall. The fastening element having a contact element having an adhesive surface and a filling opening via which a flowable adhesive agent is capable of being brought between the adhesive surface and the wall. Positioning elements by which the contact element is capable of being positioned at the wall are arranged at the adhesive surface. The positioning element has a width which is variable in dependence on a spacing from the outlet opening. The width reduces at least sectionally as the spacing from the outlet opening increases and is minimal at a maximum spacing from the outlet opening. Accordingly, the adhesive surface is capable of flowing around the positioning element on the introduction between the wall and the adhesive surface.

Method that Forms Pattern on Fabric Member and Fixes Pattern on Trim
20180141281 · 2018-05-24 ·

A method can be used to attach a fabric member to a trim while forming a pattern in the fabric member. A trim has trim grooves formed in one side of the trim and a fabric member has a foam formed in one side of a skin material of the fabric member. A bonding member is coated to an outer surface of the foam and the fabric member is heated where the bonding member is coated. The heated fabric member is placed on the side of the trim where the trim grooves are formed. The fabric member is fixed to the trim by inserting edges of the fabric member into the trim grooves using insertion blades while pattern protrusions formed in a compression jig form a pattern by pressing the skin material of the fabric member.

Method and device for applying protective sheeting of polymer material to a pipeline

A method of applying protective sheeting of polymer material to a pipeline, the method including the steps of advancing a carriage along an annular path extending about the longitudinal axis of the pipeline; extruding the protective sheeting on the carriage; winding the protective sheeting, as the protective sheeting is extruded, about a cutback on the pipeline; and plastifying the polymer material on board the carriage.

METHOD OF BONDING FIBERS TO FORM A COMPOSITE STRUCTURE
20180104902 · 2018-04-19 ·

A method for bonding fibers includes providing a first fiber layer and a second fiber layer positioned below the first fiber layer to bond the first fiber layer with the second fiber layer. The method may also include providing a first additive layer. The first additive layer is located between the first fiber layer and the second fiber layer. Then, the method may further include activating the first additive layer by directing energy at the first additive layer.

SANDWICH PANEL JOINTS AND METHODS FOR JOINING SANDWICH PANELS
20180066686 · 2018-03-08 ·

Joints for joining panels together, such as for joining honeycomb sandwich panels used in aerospace applications, and methods of joining said panels are disclosed. In some examples of disclosed joints, a first panel and a second panel can be joined together to form a joint. The first panel can be a flat panel that includes a rabbet formed along a first longitudinal edge, and the second panel can be a curved panel that includes a notch formed along a second longitudinal edge. In forming the joint, a portion of the rabbet can be positioned within the notch, and the flat panel and curved panel can be oriented at a non-parallel and non-perpendicular angle to one another. Adhesive can be applied along the rabbet and/or the notch in order to secure the joint.
