EXTERNAL HEAT-STAKE ARRANGEMENT
An external thermal heat-stake arrangement includes a polymeric base member having a collared heat-stake having an inner diameter and a second member disposed within the inner diameter of the collared heat-stake. The collared heat-stake is operatively configured to be deformed by a heated element to retain at least a portion of a peripheral edge of the second member to the polymeric base member.
DEVICE FOR COUPLING A RIGID MALE ENDPIECE TO A FLEXIBLE FEMALE PIPE, AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREFOR
The invention relates to a fluid-transfer coupling device designed to couple a rigid male endpiece (30) to a flexible female pipe (20) and to the production method therefor. The device comprises: a sleeve (10) for gripping around the pipe and locking the endpiece, the sleeve having a radially inner part (18) surrounding an annular sealing lining (50) mounted in abutment on the endpiece; and a metal socket (40) having a tubular portion (41) gripped by the pipe and ending in a collar formed by a radial step (43) which extends in an axial end (44) and has a radial height, the axial end being mounted inside and in contact with the radially inner part and forming the base of a groove receiving the lining, the device comprising means for fitting the sleeve to the collar and comprising a continuous peripheral projection (13) formed in one piece with the sleeve. According to the invention the projection projects radially in abutment against the step over most of the radial height.
Pipe, pipe connection and pipeline system
A pipeline system is enclosed including unlined or plastic lined pipes. A mechanical metal to metal connection is employed that can provide a fluid tight seal. A pipe coupling may be employed to span the connection. Plastic lined pipes can have their plastic liners connected to form a fluid tight bladder. Electro-fusion may be employed.
METHOD FOR ATTACHING WATER-REPELLENT FILTER TO INLET OR OUTLET OF AIR VENT FORMED IN THERMOPLASTIC RESIN MOLDED ARTICLE, THERMALLY PROCESSING TIP AND THERMALLY WELDING TIP FOR MOLDING FILTER ATTACHMENT PORTION AND FOR ATTACHING FILTER, AND MOLDED ARTICLE
A method attaches a liquid-repellent filter to an air vent of a resin molded article accommodating a component/electronic part. A thermal processing tip and a thermally welding tip and a molded article are provided. The thermal processing tip (22) forms a filter attachment surface (14) at the inlet or outlet of an air vent (16) in a thermoplastic resin molded article (13). A filter fixing rib (15) is formed around the attachment surface. The porous filter (18) is dropped onto the filter attachment surface, and a thermal welding tip (2) is used to melt the filter fixing rib such that the melted resin flows onto and covers a circumferential edge portion of the filter, penetrating the body of the filter. The melted resin penetrating the filter 18 and covering the circumferential edge portion of the filter are cooled to solid, whereby the filter is fixed to the filter attachment surface.
GEM APPLIER AND METHOD
A gem applier and method for dispensing gems includes holding a plurality of gems in a stack and moving a gem from the stack for dispensing. A gem may be moved from the stack in a plane that is perpendicular to a direction in which the gem is dispensed or applied to a substrate. An actuator may cause both movement of a gem from a stack and dispensing of the gem.
Nozzles including polycrystalline diamond or polycrystalline cubic boron nitride and related assemblies and methods
Embodiments are directed to nozzles for three-dimensional printing and related nozzle assemblies and methods. An example nozzle includes at least one top surface, at least one bottom surface, and at least one nozzle lateral surface extending from or near the top surface to or near the bottom surface. The nozzle also includes at least one conduit surface defining a conduit. At least a portion of the conduit surface comprise at least one of polycrystalline diamond (PCD), polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PcBN), or another suitable superhard material. The nozzle may be attached to a base to form a nozzle assembly. The nozzle may be attached to the base by at least one of deforming the base relative to the nozzle, threadedly attaching (either directly or indirectly) the nozzle to the base, or press-fitting a hollow hollowed-sleeve into a passageway defined by the base.
