The process includes (D) expanding the collar radially outward to contact an inner surface of the base. The process includes (E) sealing, with a pair of opposing seal bars, the base to the neck.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IN-LINE CONTROLLING AN ULTRASONIC WELDING OF ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE PLASTIC COMPONENTS

A system for in-line controlling of the ultrasonic welding of plastic components of an electronic cigarette, in which plastic components are welded to one another at a welding zone to define a welded group; the plastic components are such that the welded group has an air passage duct having a first open end and a second open end. The system includes: a chamber for receiving the welded group; a closure for closing the first open end; air supply for supplying air into the chamber. The system further includes an air exit, connecting the welding zone with the outside of the chamber; a continuous pressure control and adjustment for continuously controlling and regulating the air pressure that enters the air passage duct to keep a fixed air pressure; an air passage nozzle having a predetermined cross section, position between the continuous pressure control and adjustment and the second open end; and a pressure sensor for detecting the air back pressure generated in the chamber after the introduction of air into the air passage duct.

Manufacture of a Compact Ejector System for a Boosted Internal Combustion Engine

Vapors in the fuel tank of a vehicle are collected in a carbon canister. An ejector or aspirator is used to purge the carbon canister in a pressure-charged engine in which a positive pressure exists in the intake. A compact ejector includes a substantially planar flange and a venturi tube coupled to the flange with a central axis of the venturi tube substantially parallel to the flange. By manufacturing the ejector in two pieces, dimensions within the ejector: throat, converging section, and diverging section, is more accurate than prior art manufacturing techniques thereby providing better flow characteristics throughout the boost range.

Method for forming pressure-testable field joint between pre-insulated pipe sections, and piping system with pressure-testable field joint
20180017463 · 2018-01-18 ·

A method for forming a field joint between pipe sections is provided, preferably for pre-insulated pipe sections containing a carrier pipe surrounded by insulation and an outer jacket. The carrier pipes are joined, and an air tube is positioned so that its first end is within the joint area, and its second end extends beyond the joint area. A sleeve is sealed over the joint area, joining the jackets, with the sleeve positioned to cover the first end but not the second end of the tube. Air is injected into the tube to pressurize the cavity within the jacket, and the tube bore is sealed to allow air pressure testing. If the testing shows no loss of air pressure, the bore of the tube is sealed permanently to complete the seal on the field joint. Also provided is a piping system having a field joint formed by this method.

SEAM CONSTRUCTION USING RADIO FREQUENCY WELDING AND TAPE

A pipe connecting structure includes a tube made of PERT (polyethylene of raised temperature resistance) or PEX (crosslinked polyethylene) having a light-pervious or light-absorption color and a tubular connector made of PP (polypro pylene), PE (poly ethylene), POM (polyformaldehyde) or PA (polyamide) having a light-absorption or light-pervious color. One end of the tube and one end of the tubular connector are mated with each other to be welded together by laser welding with parameters including a power in the range of 13-28 W and a rotational speed in the range of 45-50 rpm. The strength of the pipe connecting structure is up to 500 psi when making a burst pressure test. The strength of the pipe connecting structure is two-three times as much as the original PERT tubular connector.
