FILMS AND BAGS WITH VISUALLY DISTINCT REGIONS AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME

One or more implementations of a multi-layer film include a first layer non-continuously bonded to a second pigmented layer. The multi-layer film includes an unexpected appearance differing from the appearance of the pigmented layer. In one or more embodiments, the multi-layer film includes a metallic appearance despite the pigmented layer being devoid of metallic pigment. The multi-layer film also includes areas that are visually distinct from areas of the film with the unexpected appearance. The visually-distinct areas comprise areas in which the first layer non-continuously is in intimate contact with the second pigmented layer. The visually-distinct areas have the appearance of the pigmented layer or another appearance. One or more implementations also include methods of making multi-layer films and bags with an unexpected appearance and visually-distinct areas.

Systems and Methods for Multi-Stage Sealing of Contact Lens Packaging

A contact lens package may include a first package layer, a second package layer, a lens receiving area defined between the first and second package layers, a first seal portion between the first and second package layers extending around a first portion of the lens receiving area, a second seal portion between the first and second package layers extending around a second portion of the lens receiving area, and the second seal portion having different sealing properties than the first seal portion. The second seal portion together with the first seal portion complete a seal around the lens receiving area. The first seal portion defines an unsealed gap at a location around the lens receiving area, and the second seal portion closes the gap. The gap allows a flow of fluids after a formation of the first seal.

Method and device for applying at least one decorative strip to a seat cover

A device for applying a decorative strips (3, 4, 5, 6) with positional accuracy to a seat cover (2) with high-frequency welding, includes two tool halves (10, 30), of which one tool half has at least one electrode (14, 15, 16, 17). A first tool half (10) has at least two electrodes (14, 15, 16, 17) oriented parallel to each other, the width of the electrodes being adapted to the width of the decorative strips (3, 4, 5, 6) to be applied. Insulators (18, 19, 20, 21, 22) oriented in parallel are arranged between the electrodes (14, 15, 16, 17) and in parallel on the outside of the electrodes. The insulators (18, 19, 20, 21, 22) protrude beyond the electrodes (14, 15, 16, 17) in the direction of the second tool half (30). The insulators (18, 19, 20, 21, 22) are height-adjustable relative to the electrodes (14, 15, 16, 17).

Synthetic Turf Seam Integration Template System and Methods of Use

A synthetic turf seam integration template system and method is provided that includes a template having a planar base with a perpendicularly joined positioner. The planar base is configured with a longitudinal cutting edge with a predetermined curvature and an opposing longitudinal non-cutting edge. The positioner, which aids in moving the template, is attached to the non-cutting edge. Variations of the predetermined curvature patterns are disclosed. An optional connector allows connection of two templates to create a longer template for usage on longer seams. Also disclosed are methods of using the seam integration tool in creating an undetectable seam in synthetic turf.

MEDICAL PACKAGE

An assembly includes a medical package defining a housing configured to receive a medical supply. The medical package comprises a first sealable region and a second sealable region. The first and second sealable regions are configured to be sealed together to secure the medical supply within the housing. The medical package includes a thermal pattern configured to exhibit a first visible indicium indicative of an unsealed region between the first and second sealable regions. The thermal pattern is configured to irreversibly transform to a second visible indicium indicative of a sealed region between the first and second sealable regions in response to exposure to a temperature greater than or equal to a first temperature threshold, and to a third visible indicium indicative of a sterilized stage of the medical package in response to exposure to a temperature greater than or equal to a second temperature threshold.

Plastic board and method for producing such a board
09914251 · 2018-03-13 · ·

A method for producing a plastic board with an upper side 1, an underside 2 and at least one edge surface 3 by an injection-molding technique, and also a corresponding plastic board are provided. In the method, a first half 6, which forms at least the upper side of the plastic board, and a second half 7, which forms at least the underside of the plastic board, are injection-molded. Then, the first half and the second half are joined together in order to form a plastic board with an upper side and an underside. The two halves being formed in such a way that at least one cavity forms between the halves when they are joined together. The two halves are fixed onto one another, preferably by molding on a connecting component 5 of plastic.

Laser beam welding method and molded components fabricated thereby

The invention relates to a method for laser welding two plastic components A, B brought into contact at least in the joining area, wherein component B facing away from the laser radiation consists of a plastic matrix with a white pigmentation of 1.5 5-20 wt.-%, and component A facing the laser radiation, through which the laser beam passes in the welding process, exhibits a plastic matrix. For a given laser wavelength the travel distance of the laser beam through the component A measures at most 10 mm, and given a white pigmentation of the component A in wt.-%, the product of the travel distance of the laser 10 beam through the component A in mm and white pigmentation in wt.-% is less than 1.25, and the travel distance of the laser beam through the component A measures at most 1 mm.

Method for producing a partly transparent body with a color gradient, and a partly transparent body with a color gradient

A method for producing a partly transparent body with a color gradient, include: providing a transparent first casing having a first joint surface on a protrusion and including an encased object; providing a second casing which is not completely transparent and which has a second joint surface in a recess. The shape of the protrusion and the shape of the recess correspond to each other; and combining the first casing and the second casing by inserting the protrusion into the recess and melting the first joint surface of the first casing with the second joint surface of the second casing. A pressure force and a temperature are applied to the first joint surface and the second joint surface such that the first joint surface of the first casing transitions into the second joint surface of the second casing in a visually seamless manner, followed by a removal of material.
