A system and method relates to providing water to and for animals. More specifically, the present invention relates to an automated method and system for providing water and nutritional supplements to and for animals without burdensome attendance or intervention by the system user. A system and method of providing water and/or nutritional supplements to an animal, sub-group, or group of animals under electrical, electronic, or smart-device control.

Coatings aimed at improving an animal's health and well-being are provided. In particular, the coatings can help the animal manage its exposure to solar radiation, either through increased absorption of solar radiation in cold environmental conditions, or through increased reflectance of solar radiation in hot environmental conditions. In addition, or alternatively, the coatings can be used to deliver fragrances to mask the presence of bullers or protect the animal from infections or insects.

A fluid treatment kit comprises a flexible plastic container defining a first compartment and a second compartment. The first compartment contains a treating fluid. The second compartment contains at least one applicator. A breakable seal is disposed between the first compartment and the second compartment. The breakable seal is breakable to allow the treating fluid to flow into the second compartment and contact with the applicator. The applicator comprises liquid-absorbing materials and absorbs the treating fluid. The user then opens the flexible plastic container to remove the applicator and uses the applicator for the treatment of the pet.

There is provided a powdered chemical applicator for a pet door, the applicator comprising: a substantially wedge shaped body defining a powdered chemical reservoir therebetween and wherein wedge shaped body presents a ramped transition between the surface of the pet door above the chemical applicator and the front of the chemical applicator being devoid of substantial sharp edges of protrusions that may otherwise strike the pet or snag a collar of the pet as the pet brushes past the applicator from the top to the bottom of the applicator in use; and the front comprises at least one vent such that, in use, as pet door is deflected by a pet, the powdered chemical is jostled within the powdered chemical reservoir such that at least a some thereof becomes airborne such and at least some of the airborne powdered chemical is ejected through the at least one vent onto the pet. There is also provided a liquid chemical applicator for a pet door wherein the front comprises a slit having a planar wick therethrough and therealong, the extending through the slit so as to define an interior portion for being soaked by a liquid chemical within the reservoir and an exterior chemical application portion, wherein, in use, as the pet brushes past the pet door the chemical application portion rubs across the hide of the pet applying the liquid chemical thereon. There is also provided a chemical applicator strip.

A poultice application pad includes a generally planar poultice layer for application to a treatment area of a limb of an animal, and a backing sheet, adjacent to the poultice layer, which backing sheet supports and holds the form of the poultice layer when contacting the first side of the poultice layer to the treatment area to reduce application time and displacement of the mud/clay mixture beyond the treatment area. Also disclosed is a set of such poultice application pads stacked one on top of another within a sealable container.

A pet product having an outer shell defining its shape and fill material enclosed within the outer shell. A pet -related infusion composition is contained within a carrier therefore, the carrier, in the form of a zeolite molecular sieve, provides for the release of the infusion composition within the compressible fill material.

A pet feeding control system for ensuring that one or more pets consume the specific food paired to them. The pet feeding control system generally includes a pet identifier device configured to be physically attached to a pet, a bowl that receives a consumable product for the pet, a consumable product identifier device, and a monitor device configured to communicate with the pet identifier device or the consumable product identifier device. The pet identifier device is configured to wirelessly communicate with the consumable product identifier device when the pet identifier device is near the consumable product identifier device with a preventive action initiated if the pet is not authorized to consume the consumable product.

The subject-matter of the present invention is the use of a therapeutic composition comprising, in an applying carrier, at least one essential oil for relieving muscle and/or joint pain in an animal subject, wherein said composition topically treats an area of the skin of said subject, characterized in that said composition comprises methyl salicylate, which constitutes, with at least one essential oil of the composition containing same in only a small amount or not at all, an active agent within which the rate of transport of the methyl salicylate through the skin is increased by virtue of the oil, which is an essential oil.

The present invention provides a novel and improved animal sprayer for use in cooling livestock and other animals in different hot or dry environments, and methods of using the same. Embodiments of the novel animal sprayers may include a valve which does not require constant electric current to remain open during a spraying session, extending system battery life. The valves may also be self-cleaning, less likely to leak, and easily adjusted to control flow rate, reducing both water use and labor costs in monitoring and repairing the animal sprayer.

The invention relates to a unit for marking and/or sampling animal tissue, including a male portion (12) for marking and/or sampling tissue, and a female portion (13) for marking and/or receiving said tissue. According to the invention, such a unit includes an intermediate element (14) for connecting said male and female portions together, said intermediate connection element (14) having a first portion (141) for rigidly connecting to said male portion and a second portion (192) for rigidly connecting to said female portion, enabling said male and female portions to be supported along a single marking and/or sampling axis (AA1) before marking and/or sampling said animal tissue, wherein the intermediate connection element is releasable.
