Methods for controlling polymer chain scission
Methods for extrusion of polyolefins (110) that utilize melt temperature to control molecular weight and also reduce gels. Disclosed herein is an example method for controlling polymer chain scission in an extrusion system (100), comprising: melting a polyolefin resin (110) in extruder (102) at a first melt temperature to form a first melt (112); passing the first melt (112) through a screen pack (106); forming the first melt 112) into a first polyolefin product (116, 118); melting additional polyolefin resin (110) of the same grade in the extruder (102) at a second melt temperature to form a second melt (112), wherein the second melt temperature differs from the first melt temperature by 5 C. or more to control chain scission in the extruder (102); passing the second melt (112) through the screen pack (106); and forming the second melt (112) into a second polyolefin product (116, 118).
AUTOMATIC CLEANING METHOD FOR POWDER COATING PRODUCTION LINE
A method of cleaning a powder coating production line, the method including: providing a powder coating production line including equipment, an automatic cleaning tool, and a monitoring device; receiving, by the equipment, an instruction of automatic cleaning, and allowing the equipment to enter an automatic cleaning mode; cleaning, by the automatic cleaning tool, the equipment of the powder coating production line; monitoring, according to a preset monitoring condition and by the monitoring device, whether the automatic cleaning is completed; stopping the automatic cleaning when the monitoring device indicates the automatic cleaning has been completed, or continuing the automatic cleaning of the equipment; and turning off the automatic cleaning mode of the equipment.
BLEND OF LDPE AND POST-CONSUMER RECYCLATE CONTENT WITH REDUCED FILM DEFECTS
A polymer blend of virgin LDPE and 25 wt. % to 65 wt. % of a post-consumer recyclate (PCR) LDPE is described. By using virgin LDPE having appropriate melt index, Eta025 and Eta100 and PCR LDPE having appropriate melt index, Eta025 and Eta100, a blend is produced that can be used to form films having a low amount of gel defects and other improved properties. Methods for producing the polymer blend, and for producing films having low amounts of gel defects, are also disclosed.
Method for producing semifinished plasticized PVC products
The present invention relates to the extrusion of polymer compositions based on polyvinylchloride (PVC) as a semifinished PVC product, in particular as pellets, and in particular to a method in which homogeneous polymer compositions with an elongation at break of 0 to 270%, a tensile strength of at least 1 N/mm2 and a degree of gelation of 5 to 80% are produced by using a specific energy input SEI of 0.03 to 0.09 kWh/kg. The method according to the invention is expediently conducted by a plasticizer being added in a number of portions to the non-compounded polyvinylchloride and mixed in with it. The method according to the invention thereby offers a quick and easy possible way of producing semifinished plasticized PVC products, in particular as pellets, the production of which only requires a single processing device in the form of an extruder.
Monitoring method and device
The invention relates to a monitoring method for monitoring the energy requirement of an extrusion installation (10), comprising the following steps: Setting of a balancing limit (20), in whose balancing space (22) the extrusion installation (10) is assembled, Monitoring of at least one energy flow (30) into the balancing space (22), Monitoring of a feed flow (40) of granules in the extrusion installation (10), Determining the relation between the at least one energy flow (30) and the feed flow (40).
Method for producing ready-to-use soft PVC films or profiles
The extrusion of polymer compositions based on polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and in particular to a method in which polymer compositions are produced that have an elongation at break of at least 200%, a tensile strength of at least 10 N/mm2 with a specific energy input SEI of 0.03 to 0.20 kWh/kg and in particular 0.04 to 0.16 kWh/kg. The method is expediently carried out such that a plasticizer is added in a plurality of portions to the non-composed polyvinyl chloride and mixed into said polyvinyl chloride. The method thereby offers a fast and simple possibility of producing products from finished soft PVC, the production of said products requiring only a single processing device in the form of an extruder.
