Method and device for producing rubber-coated metal wire
A method and device for producing metal wire by sheathing a wire with an elastomer compound coming from an extruder is described herein. The aspects disclosed herein may include a feed canal for feeding a sheathing die, through which the wire is made to pass at a pre-established nominal speed. Various temperatures are controlled during the method based on a variety of parameters such as the measured speed at which the wire is moving is other than the nominal speed.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FORMING UNCURED RUBBER COMPONENT
A method for forming an uncured rubber component, the method includes conveying an uncured extruded rubber strip extruded continuously from an extruder using a conveyor, the conveyor including a first conveyor and a second conveyor located at a downstream side of the first conveyor in a convey direction, the step of conveying including shrinking the uncured extruded rubber strip, wherein the step of shrinking is such that the uncured extruded rubber strip, in a relaxed state of a U-shaped manner, passes through fluid held in a tank between the first conveyor and the second conveyor without being restrained so that the uncured extruded rubber strip shrinks freely while receiving buoyancy from the fluid, and cutting the uncured extruded rubber strip in a predetermined length to form an uncured rubber component, after the step of shrinking.
PROCESS FOR IN-LINE INSPECTION OF FUNCTIONAL FILM LAYER CONTAINING DETECTABLE COMPONENT
The continuity of a functional layer of a web (32, 60, 78) is assessed by forwarding the web, detecting (42, 63) the presence of the functional layer and a discontinuity and/or a thin region in the functional layer, and generating a signal in response to the discontinuity and/or thin region. The functional layer comprises a detectable component (360) in a thermoplastic composition. The detecting is carried out by a machine vision system capable of detecting the detectable component (360) in the functional layer. The detectable component (360) can be active or passive. Also included are systems for carrying out the process.
Powder coating composition system and process
A system and process for producing a homogenous extrudate powder coating composition having predetermined properties, the system comprising a color library database that is configured to store one or more input formulation data objects capable of use in controlling the inputs and operation of an electronically controlled homogenous extrudate mixer.
Method and apparatus for automatic extrudate loading and alignment
Disclosed herein is a method and apparatus for automatic extrudate loading and alignment. An extrudate handling system includes a head end assembly and an imaging device (which may be part of the head end assembly). The imaging device is configured to image an end face of an extrudate, and generate, during translation of the extrudate, an imaging output signal indicative of a rotational position of the end face of the extrudate. The head end assembly includes a rotational effector to rotate the extrudate during translation thereof and a fixed effector rotationally fixed relative to a track. The extrudate handling system is able to determine the rotational position of the web angle of the extrudate and precisely adjust the rotational position while linearly translating the extrudate along the track. The extrudate handling system provides greater accuracy, reduced costs, and improved results.
System and method for producing plastic products from recycled mixed plastic waste and plastic product
Disclosed are plastic products from a recycled plastic mix of unidentified, unclean and unsorted mixed plastic waste made with a system comprising thermal and mechanical processing of the recycled plastic waste using continuous extrusion foaming, two-phase cooling, continuous metering of the pulling strength and automatic adjustment of the pulling speed and extrusion speed.
ON-LINE MELT TENSION SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MEASUREMENT OF MELT STRENGTH OF POLYMERIC MULTILAYER AND MONOLAYER STRUCTURES
The present disclosure includes a method for determining a melt strength includes extruding one or more polymers to form the polymer film, passing the polymer film at least partially around a measurement roll coupled to a force measuring device, at least partially around a chill roll downstream of the measurement roll, and through a nip defined between two nip rolls, and measuring a force exerted on the measurement roll by the polymer film using the force measuring device. The polymer film is at least partially molten when contacting the measurement roll. A system includes an extruder, a measurement roll couple to one or more load cells, a chill roll coupled to a drive motor, at least two nip rolls downstream of the chill roll, and a take-up roll downstream of the nip rolls. The load cells measure a force exerted by the molten polymer film on the measurement roll.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE THICKNESS OF A CONTINUOUS ELONGATED ELEMENT MADE OF ELASTOMERIC MATERIAL IN A PROCESS FOR BUILDING TYRES
A method for controlling the thickness of a continuous elongated element made of elastomeric material, applied according to coils wound on a forming support, includes: advancing a head end of the continuous elongated element toward the forming support; subjecting, during the advancement, the continuous elongated element to a first stretching with a first stretch coefficient before applying on the forming support; and subjecting, during the advancement, the continuous elongated element to a second stretching with a second stretch coefficient during the application on the forming support. During the first stretching, a span of the continuous elongated element adjacent to the head end is stretched with a supplementary stretch coefficient greater than the first stretch coefficient, in a manner so as to confer, also to the span adjacent to the head end, a stretch and a section similar or substantially equivalent to those of the rest of the continuous elongated element.
