FILAMENT PRODUCTION DEVICE AND METHOD
A device that recycles thermoplastics for producing a filament for fused deposition modelling devices (FDM) and respective operating method is provided. The crushed thermoplastic is introduced into the hopper, pushed by a screw, driven by the motor, inside the barrel, whose axial force is sustained by the axial bearing. The thermoplastic is melted with the assistance of electrical heating resistors and passes through a degassing zone connected to the vacuum pump. The thermoplastic is forced through the die, being cooled on a cooling tray having a water circulation system. The diameter of the filament is controlled by the puller based on the data obtained in the measurement system of the filament diameter. A microcontroller controls the entire process.
EMITTER LOCATING SYSTEM AND RELATED METHODS
Various systems, methods and apparatus for locating emitters embedded in tubing are disclosed herein, as well as forming outlets in said tubing and confirming the placement accuracy of such outlets. In one form, an emitter locator is disclosed having: a housing defining a generally enclosed space and having an inlet located in a first side of the housing and an outlet located in a second side of the housing positioned opposite the inlet; a cutter positioned within the generally enclosed space between the inlet and outlet; a first optical instrument located proximate the inlet; a second optical instrument located proximate the outlet; and a controller connected to the cutter and first and second optical instruments, the controller configured to detect a tubing target area desired for placement of an outlet opening in tubing that passes through the inlet and cut the tubing target area to form the outlet opening therein.
Rubber Extrusion Device and Method for Manufacturing Rubber Extrudate
A rubber extrusion device includes a head mounted with a die having: an extrusion port variable member disposed at a front end position of an extrusion flow path to move in a direction allowing an area of an extrusion port to change; and a rectifying body that enters and exits the extrusion flow path from a front end side of the extrusion flow path. A rubber extrudate is manufactured by: positioning the extrusion port variable member at a desired position in its movement direction; positioning the rectifying body at a desired position by moving the rectifying body in an extension direction of the extrusion flow path while being in contact with an inner wall of the extrusion flow path; and extruding unvulcanized rubber from the extrusion port by feeding the unvulcanized rubber into the extrusion flow path.
OPTICAL LAYERED BODY, POLARIZER, METHOD FOR PRODUCING POLARIZER, IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR IMPROVING VISIBILITY OF IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE
The present invention provides a method for improving visibility of an image display device which is capable of providing an image display device excellent in anti-reflection properties and bright-field contrast even using an optical layered body including a light-transmitting substrate having in-plane birefringence, such as a polyester film. The method of the present invention is a method for improving visibility of an image display device that has an optical layered body including a light-transmitting substrate having in-plane birefringence and an optical functional layer disposed on one surface of the substrate. The method includes the step of disposing the optical layered body such that the slow axis showing a greater refractive index of the light-transmitting substrate is in parallel with the vertical direction of a display screen of the image display device.
Rubber member molding method
A rubber member molding method for molding a rubber member having a belt shape by attaching rubber discharged from a die to a molding surface while relatively moving the die and the molding surface in a direction along the molding surface, the rubber member molding method includes setting, as an abutting position, a position where a first one of the die and the molding surface is moved in a direction of moving closer to a second one and abuts on the second one before start of molding, and setting, as a molding start position, a position where the first one is moved from the abutting position in a direction of moving away from the second one by a desired thickness of a rubber member at the start of molding.
METHODS FOR FORMING BLENDED FILMS INCLUDING RENEWABLE CARBOHYDRATE-BASED POLYMERIC MATERIALS WITH HIGH BLOW UP RATIOS AND/OR NARROW DIE GAPS FOR INCREASED STRENGTH
Described herein are methods for increasing strength of blown films, by forming the films using a film blowing apparatus where the film is formed from a blend of a first polymeric material and a renewable carbohydrate-based polymeric material having particular characteristics. By using such a blend, and ensuring that the film blowing apparatus is operated at a high blow up ratio of at least 2.0, and/or using a narrow die gap of no more than 500 microns, Applicant has discovered that increased strength in the film can be obtained, as compared to where (i) the renewable carbohydrate-based polymeric material is not included or (ii) where the film is blown at lower blow up ratios and/or wider die gaps.
