Composite material manufacturing method and composite material
An object is to provide a composite material manufacturing method for improving interlayer strength. The present disclosure provides a composite material manufacturing method of laminating a plurality of prepregs (10) formed of a fiber reinforced base material impregnated with an uncured matrix resin and performing hot molding, the method including: using the prepregs (10) each provided with a gap layer (12) that does not contain a resin and is continuous in an in-plane direction and resin layers (11a, 11b) disposed on both surfaces of the gap layer; disposing a plurality of short fibers (13) on facing surfaces of the prepregs (10) that are adjacent to each other; and evacuating the laminated prepregs (10) to degas the gap layer (12) and then performing hot molding.
STIFFENED PANEL OF COMPOSITE MATERIALS AND METHOD FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF SAID PANEL
Method for manufacturing a stiffened panel of composite materials and a stiffened panel, comprising: a skin (1), and stiffeners (3, 4),
wherein the manufacturing method comprises the following steps: providing a skin (1), making a plurality of through drill holes (6) on the skin (1) located in correspondence with areas where the placement of stiffeners (3, 4) is expected, introducing threaded bolts (5) in the through drill holes (6) such that the head (11) of the threaded bolt (5) remains housed in the skin (1), locating a threaded nut (10) on the free end of the threaded bolts (5), manufacturing the stiffeners (3, 4) such that the threaded bolts (5) and the threaded nut (10) remain embedded in the stiffeners (3, 4).
Internal tooling for composite parts
Systems and methods are provided for composite part fabrication. One embodiment is a method for fabricating a composite part. The method includes selecting a tool with sides made of a core material in a desired size and shape, disposing a preform of a fiber reinforced material that surrounds the tool, resulting in a lamina assembly comprising the preform and the tool, heating the tool and the preform, co-bonding the tool to the fiber reinforced material within the lamina assembly, and hardening the preform and the tool into a hybrid composite part.
CARBON FRAME AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
Proposed are a carbon frame and a method of manufacturing the same capable of improving torsional stiffness. The method includes the steps of: (a) preparing at least two forms; (b) wrapping up the forms with vinyl sheets; (c) laminating carbon prepregs on the vinyl sheets; (d) combining the forms to put the combined forms in a mold; and (e) injecting heat and wind into the vinyl sheets.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING FIBER-REINFORCED PLASTIC COMBINED BODY FROM PREPREG
A method for producing a fiber-reinforced plastic combined body from a prepreg, includes: heating the prepreg in an atmosphere above a room temperature and lower than a curing temperature of the prepreg; provisionally combining pre-products obtained by the heating together or with another component; and retaining and curing the combined pre-products at the curing temperature or higher.
Composite structures constructed of wound tubular braiding
A system for constructing a composite structure includes a braiding machine, a winding tool and a forming machine. The composite structure is constructed of a wound tubular braiding. The wound tubular braiding is constructed of a biaxial or triaxial tubular braid of unidirectional tape.
Method of making surf fin including injection molded pre-impregnated composite fiber matrix inserts
A method of forming a fin configured for use with a water sports board. The method includes providing a mold having a mold cavity and first and second insert pre-preg sheets each including structural strands respectively bonded by first and second resin materials. The method further includes placing the insert pre-preg sheets within the mold cavity. The method further includes injecting a third resin material under pressure into the mold cavity between the first insert pre-preg sheet and the second insert pre-preg sheet to urge the first insert pre-preg sheet and the second insert pre-preg sheet away from each other and towards respective ones of the pair of mold cavity faces, and dispose the third resin material between the first insert pre-preg sheet and the second insert pre-preg sheet to space at least a portion of the first insert pre-preg sheet from the second insert pre-preg sheet.
Thermoplastic composite in-situ melt processing method for composite overwrapped tools
An in-situ melt processing method for forming a fiber thermoplastic resin composite overwrapped workpiece, such as a composite overwrapped pressure vessel. Carbon fiber, or other types of fiber, are combined with a thermoplastic resin system. The selected fiber tow and the resin are prepared for impregnation of the tow by the resin. The resin is melted; and, carbon fiber is impregnated with the melted resin at the filament winding machine delivery head. The molten state of the composite is maintained and is applied, in the molten state, to the heated surface of a workpiece. The portion of the surface being wrapped is heated to the melting point of the thermoplastic resin so that the molten composite more efficiently adheres to the heated surface of the workpiece and so that the uppermost layer of fiber resin composite is molten when overwrapped resulting in better adherence of successive layers to one another.
Tooling device and method for producing a planar structural component for an aircraft
A tooling device for producing a planar structural component for an aircraft has a moulding tool part with a contour surface for receiving a planar semi-finished product, a heating device for heating the semi-finished product, a film produced from an elastically deformable material and a clamping system with a first clamping device arranged on a first longitudinal side of the contour surface , and a second clamping device arranged on a second longitudinal side of the contour surface located opposite the first longitudinal side. The film is couplable to the clamping devices by the edge regions thereof and, when it is coupled to the clamping devices, covers the contour surface of the moulding tool part. The film is elastically deformable relative to the contour surface by the first and/or the second clamping device to press the semi-finished product in a planar manner against the contour surface for deforming purposes.
