METHOD AND TOOL FOR MANUFACTURING A COMPOSITE AIRCRAFT WINDOW FRAME
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a composite aircraft window frame; the method comprises the steps of: a) positioning in a mold a preform made of pre-impregnated material including dispersed fibers, with a predefined orientation, in a thermosetting resin matrix; b) closing the mold so as to define a gap between at least one surface of said preform and a portion of said mold; c) injecting thermosetting resin into the closed mold through an inlet opening of the mold itself, so as to fill the gap and completely lap said surface of the preform; and d) applying a uniform hydrostatic pressure on the surface by the injection of the resin.
Process and system for the manufacture of windows/doors
The process for the manufacture of windows/doors (1), characterized by the fact that it comprises the following steps: providing at least one inner panel (2) for windows/doors; providing a plurality of plastic profiled elements (3) for windows/doors, each of the profiled elements (3) comprising at least two areas to seal (5), coupleable to the areas to seal (5) of the other profiled elements (3), and at least one longitudinal slot (6), in which a respective perimeter side (4) of the inner panel (2) is insertable; performing a step of mechanical machining by chip removal on at least one of the areas to seal (5); heating the areas to seal (5); coupling the heated areas to seal (5) to one another by pressing the profiled elements (3) one against the other to maintain the areas to seal (5) in mutual contact and define the frame for windows/doors, the coupling taking place with the inner panel (2) inserted in the longitudinal slots (6) to define a window/door (1) which is composed by the frame and by the inner panel (2) contained in the frame.
Surfacing materials and method of manufacture
A surfacing material includes a substrate having a top side and a bottom side. A matte surface is formed on the bottom side thereof, wherein the matte surface of the surfacing material is a coating of an electron beam radiation curable material applied to the bottom side of the substrate. The coating is an epoxy acrylic or urethane acrylic laid upon the substrate. The epoxy acrylic or urethane acrylic is irradiated with UV-radiation to produce a UV-radiation layer wherein the epoxy acrylic or urethane acrylic is neither hardened nor is an entire layer of the epoxy acrylic or urethane acrylic crosslinked but rather the epoxy acrylic or urethane acrylic only crosslinked on the surface thereof, which produces a matting surface through the effects of a micro-convolution.
Method and device for welding two hollow profiled rods made of plastic
A method for welding two hollow profiled rods made of plastic to form a window frame. The profiled rods to be joined together are heated to a predetermined temperature by inserting a welding plate between their connecting surfaces and pressing the same against the welding plate, forming outer and inner beads, and the profiled rods are pressed together under pressure after removing the welding plate, with a simultaneous increase in the size of the weld bead. For all cross sections of the profiled rods and the plastics used for manufacturing the window frames, to obtain a type of shadow groove on the top side and/or front side and on the bottom side and/or rear side of the finished window frame in the area of or near the connecting sites of the finished window frame, only the outer beads formed on the visible surface of the subsequent window frame in the area of or near the connecting sites of the two profiled rods are pressed slightly inward after removing the welding plate forming an oblique edge, and then are removed together with the inner beads, and then the connecting surfaces of the two profiled rods are joined together.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONNECTING PROFILED PARTS
At least two profiled parts (1) are fixed to profile supports (2) that can be moved relative to each other. The profiled parts (1) are each partially melted at an end joining face (10) with a heating element (5) in a melting step and, after the heating element (5) has been removed, the partially melted joining faces (10) of the profiled parts are pressed against each other in a joining step, until the molten materials brought into contact with each other there cool down and solidify, forming a welded connection. To avoid or reduce occurrence or development of a welding bead, in a separating step that is carried out before the joining step, a mating tool (6, 29) is guided through the melt along the separating edge (9) of the limiting element (3), in order to separate the excess melt (7) that has escaped over the separating edge (9).
A method of making a frame member, a frame member, a frame structure and use of a frame member
The present invention relates to a method of producing a frame member for a window or a door, the method comprising the steps of providing a sheet of metal, rollforming the sheet of metal into a frame shell having a predetermined profile, introducing a foaming material into the frame shell, and arranging the frame shell in a calibration tube until the foam material has set. The sheet of metal has a thickness of 0.25 mm or less.
The present invention further relates to a frame member, a frame structure and use of such frame member.
Structural composition and method
A structural polymeric composite includes a stiffening layer. The composite is made in a continuous extrusion process in which the stiffening layer is pulled through a cross-head die as a polymer is extruded over it. The layer includes a film or textile carrier, a filler of carbon fibers, fiberglass, organic fibers or minerals forming a mat. A binder may be dispersed over the mat and a second carrier applied. The mat is subjected to heat and pressure to soften the carriers and binder so they penetrate into the interstices of the filler and binds mechanically with them and the carriers and binder bind chemically with each other to form the stiffening layer. A polymer is then extruded over the stiffening layer, which may be used flat, provided with holes or punches for composite action with the polymer, formed into a profile, or segmented to provide spaced-apart stiffening layers.
