GLAZING WITH PROFILED SEAL AND TRIM AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE GLAZING
A glazing includes a glazed element, at least one profiled seal portion, at least one trim having an elongate shape and which has a base and at least one flange, the base being situated above an exterior face of the profiled seal portion, wherein the flange includes, at an opposite end to the base, at least one tab which is present in the profiled seal portion while penetrating the profiled seal portion via a hole that opens onto the exterior face and does not open onto an interior face of the profiled seal portion and the tab being wholly in contact with the profiled seal portion.
Automobile interior trim
An automobile interior trim has a resin core material and a skin material that is joined on a surface of the resin core material. The automobile interior trim has stitches that are formed on the skin material by sewing the skin material with threads. The skin material and the stitches are cut by a laser beam to generate a cut section. The vicinity of the cut section has a structure in which threads of the stitches and the raw material of the skin material are melted by heat of the laser beam, mixed together, and solidified.
Trim strip assembly for vehicle and method of manufacturing same
A trim strip assembly for a vehicle and method of making the same is provided. The trim strip assembly includes a first trim portion. The first trim portion has a polymeric base and a first decorative member bonded to the polymeric base. The polymeric base is formed of polymeric material molded to the first decorative member. The polymeric base includes a first coupling member. A second trim portion has an extruded base and a second decorative member bonded to the extruded base. The extruded base and the second decorative member are coextruded. The extruded base includes a second coupling member. The first coupling member is bonded to the second coupling member to interconnect the first trim portion and the second trim portion.
Profile strip arrangement
A profile strip arrangement includes a profile strip made of a profile material. The profile strip has a first connecting area configured to form a connection to an edge area of a windshield of a motor vehicle, and has a second connecting area configured to form a connection to a part that is adjacent to the windshield. The first connecting area has a lower connecting section which interacts with an inside of the edge area of the windshield and which has at least one free surface section that is free of the profile material. The at least one free surface section is formed by a surface of an additional element that is made of a material that differs from that of the profile strip.
Seals and method for making same
Extruded seals including a sealing portion with a honeycomb profile and method for making extruded seals with honeycomb profiles. An extrusion tool is provided with a first and second plate connected together. The first plate has a plurality of pins, which are vented to form a honeycomb profile. The second plate has a profiled opening receiving the plurality of pins and forming the overall shape of the part, including the outermost surfaces of the part. The pins serve as mandrels for extruded molten material to flow around. Varying the pin configuration and dimensions changes the honeycomb profile. The honeycomb structure is provided in the sealing portion of the extrusion. The honeycomb profile is formed by itself, co-extruded with a rigid or semi-rigid structural member, or applied to the rigid or semi-rigid structural member after the structural member is formed.
Method of manufacturing product with skin
A method of manufacturing a product with skin includes: attaching a preformed base material to a vacuum forming die on a back surface of the base material, disposing a skin material as a material of the skin on a front surface of a base material, and sucking the skin material through the vacuum forming die and the base material to deform a main portion of skin material so as to be in close contact with the front surface of the base material; cutting a surplus portion of the skin material not being in close contact with the front surface of the base material with a trim blade so that a distal end portion remains around the main portion, thereby forming the skin having the distal end portion; and winding the distal end portion of the skin around the back surface of the base material by a winding mechanism.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING A TRIM PART OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, USE OF THE DEVICE
A method for producing a three-dimensionally shaped trim part of a motor vehicle, which has a visible side and a mounting side. A flowable material is injuected with pressure into a chamber of an injection molding tool, which has at least two mold shells, which, when assembled, form the chamber with a negative mold of the trim part, wherein at least one first of the mold shells forms the visible side and at least one second of the mold shells forms the mounting side of the trim part. The material is hardened in the chamber. A gas pressure is generated that acts in a planar manner between the second mold shell and the material during the hardening. The hardened material is removed as a trim part from the chamber of the injection molding tool.
Weatherstrip assembly and method of isolating dissimilar metals in the weatherstrip assembly
A weatherstrip assembly includes a body having a carrier or core formed from a first metal for providing strength and rigidity to the body. A show surface of the weatherstrip assembly is formed of a second metal different than the first metal. The second metal acts as the show surface of the weatherstrip assembly. An isolative, electrically low conductivity layer is received only on portions of the first metal that are disposed adjacent to portions of the second metal and potentially subject to electrical contact therebetween.
AUTOMOTIVE DOOR SEALING MEMBER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
When an exterior portion is provided on an exterior surface of an extrusion-molded portion of a sealing member having the extrusion-molded portion and a mold-formed portion, while appearance is made favorable, the exterior portion is inhibited from being damaged. A glass run 20 includes an upper glass run edge 20a which is extrusion-molded, a rear connecting part 20f which is molded integrally with one end portion of the upper glass run edge 20a, and an exterior portion 29 provided on an exterior surface of the upper glass run edge 20a. A surface Si of the rear connecting part 20g on an outside of a passenger compartment is located further outside than a surface of the exterior portion.
VEHICLE REAR SLIDER WINDOW ASSEMBLY WITH UPPER RAIL CO-EXTRUDED FILLER
A slider window assembly for a vehicle includes at least one fixed window panel and a movable window panel that is movable along an upper rail and a lower rail at the at least one fixed window panel between a closed position and an opened position. The upper rail includes a channel, and a filler is disposed in the channel of the upper rail. The filler includes a filler body having opposite side walls, and the filler includes lips established along respective ones of the side walls. The lips are extruded onto and along the filler body. The lips include a compressible and flexible material and provide a dampening and cushioning function at the movable window panel when the movable window panel is disposed in the channel of the upper rail.
