Adaptable tooling methods, system and apparatuses
A modular case system and method of use provide for a case former having a base, interchangeable case gages and forming heads. Contained within the interior of the base are slide blocks mounted on slide rails and assemblies in such a manner as to allow the slide blocks to be slidingly reconfigured to form a case forming cavity of varicose sizes and shapes. The size and shape of the case forming cavity is established and maintained by a template opening, defined by, and potentially unique to, each case gage. The size and shape of the forming head corresponds to the size and shape of the template opening. The slide blocks are secured to the case gage by removable locking pins.
Method of erecting a case
By the method, a case having four sidewalls and at least four flaps at the bottom of the case is erected from a blank in a number of steps. The automated case erecting unit for use in erecting case blanks comprises a supporting device (9) and a picking and handling device (2), said picking and handling device being a robot with a robotic arm, wherein said robotic arm comprising a picking member (3) with a first leg and a second leg, which are placed perpendicularly and are locked in relation to each other, each leg comprising gripping means for picking up case blanks.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ACCURATE CARTON FORMATION
A carton forming machine includes a carton blank push up device that receives a substantially horizontal folded carton blank and reorients the folded carton blank from the substantially horizontal orientation to an upright orientation below and in a first direction alignment with a carton opening mechanism. A carton blank positioning apparatus shifts the upright folded carton blank in a second direction, transverse to the first direction, below the carton opening mechanism to define a second direction position of the upright carton blank below the carton opening mechanism before the carton opening mechanism engages the upright carton blank for opening of the upright carton blank.
Device and Method for Shaping Closed Packages
A device for shaping closed packages is depicted and described, including: a base plate for supporting the bottom or the gable of the packages, at least two support elements for supporting the side surfaces or the front surface and the rear surface of the packages and at least two sliding elements for shaping the side surfaces or the front surface and the rear surface of the packages wherein the support elements and the sliding elements include at least one shaped surface on their side assigned to the package. In order to also enable a precise shaping of the packages even in the case of closed packages with complex geometry, it is proposed for at least one of the shaped surfaces to be curved at least in sections. A method for shaping closed packages is also depicted and described.
ONE-PIECE, FOLDABLE COOLER
A cooler includes panels defining a storage area; corner panels; top panels forming a lid; a first handle panel connected to a first top panel and having a slot formed therein; a second handle panel connected to a second top panel and having a slot formed therein; and a first tab panel connected to a corner panel and having a tab defining a recess, the tab being configured to extend through the slot of the first handle panel and through the slot of the second handle panel for locking the handle panels and top panels in a fully closed, carry configuration of the cooler. Portions of the first and second handle panels are received within the recess defined by the tab. The second handle panel can be unlocked and the storage area accessed while holding the cooler with the first handle panel.
Filling machine for filling packaging containers with products, and method therefor
A filling machine for filling packaging containers made of cardboard composite material with products, in particular liquid foods, includes a gripper that removes a packaging jacket from a magazine only partially erected in the manner of a parallelogram by a guide and at least one of two retaining elements for accommodating an outer fold edge of the partially erected packaging jacket can be move back and forth between an initial position and an end position. The cross-section of the packaging jacket accommodated by the two retaining elements is rectangular in the end position of the movable retaining element.
LIQUID STORAGE CONTAINER AND METHOD FOR FOLDING THE CONTAINER
A liquid storage container which can be securely inflated within an external container. The liquid storage container includes a bag body and an ejection outlet. The bag body includes a plurality of bellows portions formed by accordion-folding the bag body along longitudinal crease lines, and has a double-folded portion formed by folding the bag body along an upper lateral crease line and a lower lateral crease line. With reference to the bag body, the following relations are satisfied: 10%<X/H<50%, 3%<Y/H<10%, where H is the length of the bag body, x is the distance between the top periphery and the lower lateral crease line, and Y is the distance between the upper lateral crease line and the lower lateral crease line.
