Method and Device for Forming at Least One Bottom on a Hose Piece
The invention relates to a method for forming at least one bottom on a hose piece (20), which comprises plastic material, wherein at least one end of the hose piece is pulled open along at least one first folding edge (21), a bottom rectangle (22) and triangular pockets (23) thus being formed; wherein side tabs (25, 26) of the bottom rectangle are folded back along two folding edges (24) spaced apart from the first folding edge in order to close the bottom, wherein the two side tabs then contact each other, and wherein a bottom cover sheet (31) is applied to the bottom and is connected to the side tabs and at least one triangular pocket by application of heat or by means of glue. The surfaces of the side tabs that come into contact and the triangular pockets are connected to each other at least in the region of the two folding edges, a connection (32) thus being formed.
Process and equipment for manufacturing a reinforced sachet
The present invention is directed to a process for manufacturing a flexible package suitable for containing a food or beverage ingredient and suitable for use with a food or beverage preparation machine, wherein said process comprises punching a flexible flat blank sheet between a plunger and a cavity that are movable relative to one another. According to the invention, the plunger has a concave end side and convex lateral sides, and the profile curvature of its end side is identical to the profile curvature of each of its lateral sides.

Coffee Bag Vent
A laser formed vent in packaging material, formed by an interior breach and an exterior breach, which are connected to one another by a channel. The next interior breach an exterior breach are laterally offset from one another, the channel is formed by vaporizing a bubble in an interior layer, for example a foil layer. In one embodiment, the bubble can be crushed, but returns to its original configuration.
Flexible Container with Fitment and Process for Producing Same
A flexible container is provided. The flexible container includes four panels. The four panels form (i) a body portion; (ii) a neck portion, and a flare portion that extends from the neck portion; (iii) a tapered transition portion between the body portion and the neck portion; and (iv) the neck portion has a reduced width. The flare portion has an expanded end. The width of the flare portion gradually increases from the neck portion to the expanded end.
Reclosable flexible packaging and methods for manufacturing same
Flexible film packages having a partial, initial seal against ambient atmosphere and are easily openable and reclosable. The flexible film packages are generally resealable to extend the shelf-life or freshness of products contained therein once the package is initially opened. By one approach, the flexible film has two opposing edge portions that meet to form a longitudinal seal extending from a first end seal to a second end seal. The flexible film may have a score that defines a package opening. An elongated closure layer may extend over the score and may extend from a first end seal to a second end seal and within the opposing edge portions that form the longitudinal seal. The elongated closure layer may have a tack-free gripping portion used to release at least a portion of the elongated closure from the flexible film to form the package opening.
Apparatus for producing pouch container with spout
Score lines are formed on package material. A spout attachment hole is formed in a portion corresponding to a top gusset section of a pouch. A spout is attached to the spout attachment hole. A portion corresponding to a peripheral edge of the top gusset section of the pouch and a portion corresponding to a top edge of a body section of the pouch are heat-sealed, and the package material is cut in the width direction. Portions corresponding to side edges of the body section of the pouch are heat-sealed, and a portion corresponding to a peripheral edge of a bottom gusset section and a portion corresponding to a peripheral edge of a bottom end portion of the body section are heat-sealed. The heat-sealed portions formed at the portions corresponding to the side edges of the body section of the pouch are cut so a spouted pouch package is released.

Flexible package
A flexible package including a package body including a first side-surface film and a second side-surface film sealed in a peripheral portion. The package body has sealed portions formed in side edge portions such that a non-sealed portion is formed in at least one of the sealed portions. The non-sealed portion has a gas injection portion containing a gas which has a specific heat at constant volume of 0.67 kJ/kg.Math.deg or higher at 0 C. and 1 atm. The gas injection portion has a diameter of from 3 to 50 mm and is formed such that a repelling force is from 4 to 30 N at 23 C. and 1 atm when an entire gas injection portion is nipped from both sides of the first and second side-surface films and squeezed until a nipped gas injection portion has a width equal to a half of the diameter of the gas injection portion.
LINER FOR BEVERAGE AND FOOD VESSELS
A liner for use with a fluid dispensing vessel. The liner includes a flexible pouch defining an interior region and configured to be placed in a fluid dispensing vessel. The pouch includes a top end that is partially sealed and that includes a first opening. The pouch includes a fluid passageway defined by at least two sealed boundaries and that leads from the opening to the interior region. The pouch includes a bottom end that includes a second opening. The liner includes a fluid dispensing fitment connected to the pouch and configured to be in fluid communication with interior region via the second opening. When fluid is poured into the interior region of the pouch through the opening, it can be dispensed from the pouch through the fitment.
