Embossing Pattern with a Continuous Contour Plateau having Emboss Elements thereon and Products and Methods of Using the same.
Embossed tissue products having improved strength and softness are disclosed. The products as described have a continuous curvilinear emboss element which carries discrete emboss elements, thereby providing the product with the softness and handfeel benefits associated with the long linear elements, but the visual appearance of discrete emboss elements.
Tissue product and method and apparatus for producing same
A tissue product with at least four plies made of tissue paper base sheet or nonwoven comprises: a first outer ply and a second outer ply and at least two inner plies between the first outer ply and the second outer ply, wherein only one of the inner plies is un-embossed; the outer plies comprise a micro-embossing pattern; at least one of the outer plies comprises a d?cor embossing pattern; and at least two adjacent inner plies comprise the un-embossed inner ply and one micro-embossed inner ply; wherein the density of the micro-embossed protrusions of the micro-embossed inner ply is different to the density of further embossed protrusions of the micro-embossing pattern of the outer ply which is adjacent to the micro-embossed inner ply.
Semi-corrugated paperboard panels and method for production of same
A means of making a multi ply structural panel by eliminating the top liner in the corrugating process. The present invention is made possible through modification to the corrugating rolls of the singlefacer. The design modification to the rolls involves incorporation of slots that run around the circumference of one roll and mating creasing tools incorporated around the circumference of the other of the corrugated roll set. These slots and creasing tools are incorporated across the existing flutes of the corrugating rolls.
PACKAGING MATERIAL
The disclosed embodiments relate to an insulative protective packaging material constructed using recyclable paper materials. The packaging material includes one or more plies of paper adhered to each other. The one or more plies can have protrusions that form gas pockets. The gas pockets can be sealed by another ply to provide shock absorbency and insulation. Further, the plies can be used in multiple ways such as by nesting the protrusions of one ply into the recessed of another ply, layering multiple plies on top of each other, or individually. Each ply can be substantially flat or have protrusions. The protrusions can be made in various ways such as alternating the directions that they extend and varying the shapes of the protrusions. The resulting packaging material can be used as a shipping container or as liners within shipping containers.
EMBOSSING PATTERN WITH A CONTINUOUS CONTOUR PLATEAU HAVING EMBOSS ELEMENTS THEREON AND PRODUCTS AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
Embossed tissue products having improved strength and softness are disclosed. The products as described have a continuous curvilinear emboss element which carries discrete emboss elements, thereby providing the product with the softness and handfeel benefits associated with the long linear elements, but the visual appearance of discrete emboss elements.
EMBOSSING DEVICE WITH AT LEAST ONE HEATED EMBOSSING ROLLER, AND METHOD
The embossing device includesa first path for a first ply of web material; along the first path, a first embossing roller provided with embossing protrusions; a first heating device associated with the first embossing roller to heat the surface of the first embossing roller; at least a first functional roller adapted to perform an action on a ply of web material. The first functional roller is provided with a rotation arrangement, adapted to keep the first functional roller in rotation during a temporary stoppage of the embossing device, with the first functional roller spaced from the first embossing roller and with the first ply of web material stationary in the first path.
TEXTURED SUBTRACTIVE PATTERNING
The present application provides a method of manufacturing a patterned tissue product comprising a textured background surface, and a design element wherein the design element is formed by removing a portion of the textured background. The method comprises the steps of (a) providing a tissue web having a textured top surface lying in a surface plane and a bottom surface lying in a bottom plane wherein there is a z-directional height difference between the surface plane and the bottom plane; (b) conveying the web through a first nip created by a first receiving roll and a pattern roll having a plurality of protuberances forming a design pattern; (c) conforming a portion of the web to the protuberances; and (d) conveying the web into a second nip formed between the pattern roll and a second receiving roll to form a patterned tissue product having a design element corresponding to the plurality of protuberances, the design element lying in a design element plane that is between the surface plane and the bottom plane. The textured surface provides the tissue with an overall background pattern that is typically visually distinct from the design element imparted thereon. The method may further comprise the step of applying a papermaking additive or water to the conformed portion of the web via an applicator roll between step (c) and (d). The pattern roll is generally a hard and non-deformable roll, such as a steel roll. The first receiving roll has a hardness greater than 40 Shore (A), such as from 40 to 100 Shore (A). The second receiving roll may have a smooth or non-smooth surface, and the pressure applied at the second nip is greater than 30 pli, such as from about 50-250 pli.
Method And Apparatus for Changing Rollers on an Embosser/Laminator Machine
An embosser/laminator machine has an adhesive unit releasably connectable with a main frame structure of the machine, and a roll extractor configured to move a roll between the main frame structure and an exchange position between the main frame structure and the adhesive unit when the adhesive unit is spaced from the main frame structure during removal and installation of the roll. The sub-frame comprising the adhesive unit may be formed with a bearing cap that cooperates with the main frame structure such that when the adhesive unit is connected with the main frame structure, the roll is operatively secured to the machine between main frame structure and the sub-frame of the adhesive unit for normal operation of the machine. When the sub-frame comprising the adhesive unit is released and spaced from main frame structure, the roll may be removed from and installed into the main frame structure.
