According to one embodiment, a tablet printing apparatus includes: a conveyer configured to convey a tablet along a line; an applicator head including a plurality of nozzles arranged in a direction crossing the conveyance direction of the tablet conveyed by the conveyer, configured to perform printing on the tablet by ejecting a liquid from the nozzles; and a controller configured to control the ejection of the liquid from the nozzles of the applicator head. The length of an array of the nozzles in a direction perpendicular to the conveyance direction is equal to or longer than the length of the tablet in the direction perpendicular to the conveyance direction. The controller is further configured to control switching of a nozzle used for printing on the tablet among the nozzles by a plurality of sections determined in advance.

The driving-signal generating section detects the output-period voltage amplitude and does not detect the suspension-period voltage amplitude.

The sensor attaching part is provided so as to be extended from the head mounting part. The encoder scale is arranged at a location which the encoder sensor can read. A partition member is provided to separate the head mounting part from the sensor attaching part in the carriage. The head mounting part is arranged in a first space, and the sensor attaching part and the encoder scale are arranged in a second space separated from the first apace by the partition member.

The controller is configured to execute first and second recording modes in which the controller causes the image recording head to accelerate to first and second velocities, to move at the first and second velocities, and then to decelerate from the first and second velocities, while causing the image recording head to record the image at least during moving at the first and second velocities, respectively. In a case that the controller has determined, based on printing data, that the image is to be recorded during a first velocity changing period, the controller executes the second recording mode. The first velocity changing period includes a first acceleration and deceleration periods in which the image recording head accelerates and decelerates, respectively.

A printing system is disclosed herein. The system comprises a controller and a carriage moveable along a width of a print zone, the carriage includes a printhead to eject a printing fluid on a plot area within the print zone based on print job data. The controller is to receive a print job data; define a post-processing time based on the print job data; and define a time between two consecutive swaths of the carriage based on the post-processing time. The controller is further to define a ramp area and a plot area within the print zone based on the print job data, wherein the plot area includes locations in which the printing fluid is to be ejected. The controller is also to control the carriage to move at a constant speed at the plot area and at an accelerated speed at the ramp area.
