METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING INKJET PRINTABLE PAPER OR FOIL FOR USE AS A DECOR PAPER OR FOIL
A method is provided for manufacturing a paper or a thermoplastic foil or a vitrimeric foil printable with an inkjet printer for use as a decor paper, respectively a decor foil in a laminate or laminated panel. The method may involve providing a paper layer, respectively a foil. At least one side of the paper layer, respectively of the foil, may be coated with an inkjet receiver coating that includes at least pigment and binder. The inkjet receiver coating may include an ink reactive compound. The papers and foils may be provided with a printed pattern and used as a decor in the panels.
Water-Dispersible Direct Thermal or Inkjet Printable Media
Dispersible record materials or media include a water-soluble or water-dispersible paper substrate, a printable layer carried by the substrate, and a base coat between the substrate and the printable layer. The printable layer may be a thermally responsive layer, e.g. containing a leuco dye and an acidic color developer, or an inkjet receptive layer. The binder material used in the base coat, and the base coat itself, are non-water-soluble, but nevertheless tailored in such a way that the record material as a whole is water-dispersible, i.e., it breaks apart under the influence of water with minimal agitation. The binder material of the base coat is preferably a non-resinous binder, a particulate binder, and/or a binder derived from a dispersion, such as latex. Use of such a binder material in a carefully selected concentration, with other elements, provides a base coat that allows for high quality images to be thermally printed at high print speeds on the thermally responsive layer.
Printable medium
A printable medium with a non-woven base composite supporting substrate; at least two coating layers, on the image side of the composite supporting substrate, that include an ink fixing layer, directly applied upon the supporting substrate, comprising a salt; and an image receiving layer, applied over the ink fixing layer, including pigment fillers and polymeric binders; and a barrier layer, containing a flame-retardant agent, applied on the backside of the composite supporting substrate. Also disclosed are the method for producing printed images using said media and the resulting printed material.
COATING COMPOSITION
An example of a coating composition includes an inorganic pigment, a latex, a cationic fixing agent, and a stabilizer selected from the group consisting of ethopropoxylated polyarylphenol, ethoxylated tristyrylphenol, modified fatty alcohol polyglycol ethers, and combinations thereof. Another example of a coating composition consists essentially of an inorganic pigment, a latex, a cationic fixing agent, a stabilizer selected from the group consisting of ethopropoxylated polyarylphenol, ethoxylated tristyrylphenol, modified fatty alcohol polyglycol ethers, and combinations thereof, and water.
Recording medium substrate and recording medium
A recording medium substrate in an aspect of the present invention is a recording medium substrate having a base paper and a stretched film layer on the base paper, wherein the stretched film layer has a thickness of 70 μm or more, and the recording medium substrate has an average surface roughness of 0.3 μm or less. A recording medium in another aspect of the present invention includes a recording medium substrate, a first ink receiving layer on the recording medium substrate, and a second ink receiving layer on the first ink receiving layer, wherein the first ink receiving layer is in contact with the second ink receiving layer, the first ink receiving layer contains an alumina hydrate and a hydroxy acid, the second ink receiving layer contains an alumina hydrate and a sulfonic acid.
Fabric print media
The present disclosure is drawn to a fabric print medium. The fabric print medium can include a treated fabric base substrate, an adhesion promoting layer, and an image-receiving layer. The treated fabric base substrate can include a fabric base substrate having a water proofing treatment including a water-repellant agent applied thereto. The adhesion promoting layer can be applied to the treated fabric base substrate. The adhesion promoting layer can include a first polymeric binder and a physical networking component. The image-receiving layer can be applied to the adhesion promoting layer. The image-receiving layer can include a second polymeric binder and a particulate filler.
PRINTABLE MEDIA AND METHODS FOR FORMING AN IMAGE ON THE SAME
A printable media, including a carrier layer including a first surface including a first area, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a first rigidity, a fabric layer including a third surface, a fourth surface opposite the third surface and including a second area, and a second rigidity less than the first rigidity, and a first adhesive, wherein the fabric layer is secured to the carrier layer by the first adhesive bonding a first portion of the fourth surface to the first surface.
PRINTABLE MEDIA AND METHODS FOR FORMING AN IMAGE ON THE SAME
A method of forming an image on a print media including releasably securing a fabric layer to a carrier layer, the carrier layer including a first surface including a first area, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a first rigidity, the fabric layer including a third surface, a fourth surface opposite the third surface and including a second area, and a second rigidity less than the first rigidity, and a first adhesive, wherein the fabric layer is secured to the carrier layer by the first adhesive bonding a first portion of the fourth surface to the first surface, applying a first liquid marking material to a first portion of the third surface of the fabric layer, and drying the first liquid marking material to the first portion of the third surface with a first dryer.
System and apparatus for producing multilayered printed matter
A multilayered printed matter is made up of a plurality of layers formed on a medium, including a front layer and a back layer with patterns printed thereon, and a white layer and a black layer interposed between the front layer and the back layer so as to conceal the back layer to be invisible from the front-layer side. The system for producing the multilayered printed matter includes a computer that executes a printing step of moving the medium and an inkjet head relative to each other using a moving device and printing the front, back, white, and black layers on the medium using the inkjet head, and a cutting step, subsequent to the printing step, of moving the medium and a cutting blade relative to each other using the moving device and cutting the medium using the cutting blade.
PRINTED MATTER PRODUCING METHOD, PRINTING APPARATUS, AND PRINTED MATTER
Provided is printed matter producing method including: forming a foamable layer containing a foaming agent; applying a defoaming agent to a predetermined region of the foamable layer to bring the defoaming agent into contact with the foamable layer; forming an ink receiving layer over the foamable layer to which the defoaming agent is applied; acquiring image data and shape data representing a shape of a bossed-recessed region of the foamable layer after foamed, and generating print data assigning a greater amount of an ink to a portion in the image data corresponding to an inclined portion of the bossed-recessed region based on the shape data; applying an ink over the ink receiving layer based on the print data to form an image; and applying energy to the foamable layer to form bosses and recesses.
