A pneumatically powered pole saw is provided, the pole saw having gas actuated main valves configured for movement between first positions and second positions wherein the gas actuated main valves are located in a main valves assembly fluidly coupled to the piston chamber; and a first pilot valve is configured to send actuating gas through a conduit to the main valves assembly and a second pilot valve is configured to send actuating gas through a conduit to the main valves assembly wherein the cutting blade moves in opposite directions in response to the actuating gas of the first and second pilot valves.

A working apparatus has a manual operating region, a tubular part extending away from the manual operating region, and an electric cable arrangement in the tubular part. The working apparatus includes a rod-shaped cable holder, which is inserted into and held in the tubular part and has a cable holding arrangement, by which the cable arrangement is held in a pre-mounted manner on the cable holder. An assembly method secures the cable arrangement on the cable holder by the cable holding arrangement, and inserts the cable holder, with the cable arrangement held thereon, into the tubular part. The working apparatus may be a battery-operated, hand-guided garden or forestry working apparatus.
Apparatuses and methods for removing plant material
A pruning system includes a cutting head comprising upper and lower cutting rings positioned along a bottom portion of one or more tubes. At least one cutting ring is adapted to rotate in a circular motion, while the other cutting ring may be adapted to remain stationary. A vacuum may be applied to suction target plant material, and the cutting head may be lowered toward the target plant material. As adjacent blades from the upper and lower cutting rings are separated in an open position, plant material may be collected in the opening defined by the adjacent blades. As the blades converge, the opening may close, and plant material collected in the opening may be severed from the plant. System variables, may be adjusted to accommodate different types of plant material. The pruning system may be used with a vision system to remove materials from plant beds in a field.

The valve operational modes are determined by selection of fluid conduits by a trigger valve assembly of the pneumatic valve assembly which interconnects fluid conduits to a main valve, pilot valves and a pneumatic cylinder of a fluid powered pole saw and wherein a piston located in the pneumatic cylinder is mechanically coupled to a cutting blade of the pole saw and the trigger is operatively coupled to the trigger valve assembly, wherein the pneumatic valve assembly is axially aligned with pneumatic cylinder.
Apparatus, System And Method For Delivering Treatment Fluid To Vegetation
A fluid delivery assembly is operably coupled with a reciprocating saw having a saw blade to deliver a treatment fluid to a cut portion of vegetation as the vegetation is cut. A syringe contains the treatment fluid and a fluid delivery tube has a reservoir end in fluid communication with the syringe and a delivery end adjacent the cut portion of the vegetation. A carrier is contains a portion of the fluid delivery assembly and a harness attached to the carrier has at least one strap for an operator to carry the carrier during operation of the reciprocating saw. A stepper motor is operably coupled to a PCB for storing operating parameters and for executing the operating parameters to induce advancing movement of a plunger relative to the syringe. The operating parameters are provided to the PCB by an external computing device and the PCB and stepper motor receive electrical power through an electrical power and logic cable from a power supply of the reciprocating saw. The fluid delivery tube is provided with a check valve at the reservoir end and the delivery end to retain the treatment fluid within the fluid delivery tube.

An extension rod for a power tool may include a plurality of rod portions, with a first connector and a second connector connecting two of the rod portions. The second connector has a sleeve and a primary fastener. The first connector has a guide rod sized for insertion into the sleeve. The first connector also has a secondary fastener engaging with the primary fastener. A first guide ring, a second guide ring, and a third guide ring are located between the guide rod and the sleeve. The first guide ring, the second guide ring, and the third guide ring each include respective conical faces. At least one of the first, second, and third guide rings defines a notch.

An extendable hedge trimmer includes a housing having a handle end and a tool end. The handle end includes a battery and an electrical connector. The trimmer also includes an input for receiving AC line power via a power cord, the trimmer configured for being power by AC line power and/or battery power.

The present invention relates to a method for determining a thickness of a tree trunk (17) in a harvesting head (1) for forestry, said harvesting head (1) comprising a tree trunk pressing device (3, 4, 7, 8), and a tree trunk surface follower (11, 11), wherein the tree trunk surface follower is a limbing member (11, 11), and wherein the limbing member (11, 11) is curved, said method comprising pressing the tree trunk (17), with said tree trunk pressing device (3, 4, 7, 8), in a direction towards a reference surface (15) of the harvesting head (1) and determining a measured thickness (T) by measuring the position of the tree trunk pressing device (3, 4, 7, 8) and relating said position to said reference surface (15), said method further comprising the steps of determining a deviation (D) of the tree trunk (17) from said reference surface (15) by measuring a position of the tree trunk surface follower (11, 11) and relating said position of the tree trunk surface follower (11, 11) to said reference surface (15), and calculating a corrected thickness (Tc) of the tree trunk (17) based on said measured thickness (T) and said deviation (D), wherein determining the deviation (D) further comprises relating said position of the tree trunk surface follower (11, 11) to said measured thickness (T).
Robotic Pruning Apparatus
A robotic pruning apparatus that can be adapted to fit around a variety of trees and can move along the length of the tree while performing a variety of pruning operations. The pruning apparatus can be configured with a variety of different cutting heads that have multiple degrees of freedom of movement such that they can be used to perform any number of cutting operations along the length of the tree. The apparatus can be remotely operated by a human or can be autonomous or semi-autonomous.
