Provided is a pneumatic tire 1 on which mediate land portions 23a, 23a are formed. Sipes 24 are formed in the mediate land portions 23a, 23b respectively. The mediate land portion 23a disposed inside in a vehicle width direction in a state where the pneumatic tire 1 is mounted on a vehicle has larger sipe density and projects more outwardly in a tire radial direction than the mediate land portion 23b disposed outside in the vehicle width direction in a state where the pneumatic tire 1 is mounted on the vehicle.

Tread comprising a block having a plurality of sipes

The aspects disclosed herein relate to a tread for a tire including at least one block of rubbery material of width W and length L with LW. This block extends in a circumferential direction (X) when the tread is mounted on the tire, the block including a contact surface intended to come into contact with the ground and a first lateral wall and a second lateral wall delimiting this contact surface. The block further includes a plurality of sipes opening onto the contact surface of the block, with each sipe extending over the contact surface in an oblique direction opening onto the first lateral wall and onto the second lateral wall, the sipes of the block being oriented in the same direction. The sipes are distributed over the contact surface of the block in such a way that when one sipe reaches the second lateral wall another sipe starts out from the first lateral wall at the same circumferential level (N) on the block, and each sipe includes at least two parts.

Vehicle pneumatic tyre and rubber mixture for a tread

A pneumatic vehicle tire in radial design that is a summer tire or all-season tire, with a profiled tread comprising rows of profile blocks and/or profile ribs running around the tire in circumferential direction, wherein the total number of sipes within each row of profile blocks and/or profile ribs is not more than 150, wherein the tread is in the form of a single layer or multiple layers with a radially outermost tread layer that extends at least over the width of the ground contact area, and wherein the profile depth of the tread is up to 6.5 mm. The tread or its radially outermost tread layer consists of a rubber material with a Shore A hardness at room temperature in accordance with DIN ISO 7619-1 of 40 ShA to 55 ShA.

Tread for heavy vehicle tire

The tread has a total width W and two main grooves. The main grooves divide the tread into a middle region and edge regions. The middle region has an axial width Lm that is 45% to 70% of the total width W. The volume void ratio of the tread when new is less than 17%. An internal surface extends parallel to the tread surface when new and is in contact radially with the innermost points of the deepest main grooves. The middle part has a plurality of transverse sipes, each of which has a depth at least equal to the depth of the main grooves. The transverse sipes open into the main grooves. The middle region has a volume void ratio when new that is less than half the total volume void ratio of the tread, and at least one circumferential channel appears when the tread becomes part worn.

APPARATUSES AND METHODS FOR IMPROVING CHUNKING AND CRACKING RESISTANCE OF TIRES

A tire includes a tire tread having a plurality of tread elements positioned thereon, and a plurality of grooves provided therebetween. A first set of sipes extend from a circumferential axis of the tire tread towards a first axial end of the tire tread at a non-zero angle with respect to an axial axis of the tire tread. A second set of sipes extend from the circumferential axis towards a second axial end of the tire tread opposite the first axial end at the non-zero angle such that a first sipe end of each of the first set of sipes may be positioned proximate to a second sipe end of each of the second set of sipes. Each of the first and second set of sipes extend beyond 50% of a half width of the tire, and have a sipe depth greater than 50% of a height of the plurality of tread elements.
