PROTECTIVE COVER FOR TRAILER COUPLING
Disclosed is a protective cover for trailer coupling devices. The protective cover includes a shaft with a hollowed inner core for housing a trailer coupling device and a protective pad that is adjoined to one end of the shaft. When installed, the protective casing cover protects a trailer's coupling device from adverse weather conditions. Additionally, upon installation, the protective pad of the protective cover serves to prevent or reduce damage to a vehicle when a driver backs up too far while trying to align a vehicle's trailer hitch with a trailer's coupling device.
Trailer tongue stand with secure coupler
A trailer anti-theft device is disclosed which provides a protective coupler shell that surrounds an affixed hitch ball, and which surrounds a received hitch coupler. The protective coupler shell can be selectively disengaged, such as by unlocking, to allow access to and removal of the hitch coupler from the affixed hitch ball.
Dirt protection cover arrangement, dirt protection cover device for said arrangement, and coupling method involving same
A dirt protection cover arrangement with a semi-trailer (2) and a towing vehicle (3), for closing a hollow-bored king pin (21) on the semi-trailer (2) for an automatic fifth-wheel coupling, the king pin (21) being arranged on the underside (20) of the semi-trailer (2) as a counter-bearing for a fifth wheel (31) of the towing vehicle (3), a dirt protection cover device (1) being arranged such that it is adjacent to the underside (20) of the semi-trailer (2) and can rotate about the king pin (21), said dirt protection cover device including a dirt protection cover (11) for covering the borehole (22) in the king pin (21), and the dirt protection cover (11) being configured on the dirt protection cover device (1) such that, during the coupling process, it can be displaced from a base position covering the borehole (22) in the king pin (21) into a coupled position exposing the borehole. Also, a dirt protection cover device (1) for a dirt protection cover arrangement, and a coupling method involving same.
Tow hitch insert and cover
The present invention is for a tow hitch insert assembly that allows for natural dangling and swinging motion of an elongated member from a trailer hitch. The elongated member can be of a variety of shapes and in one version is a replica of testicles. The elongated member is coupled to an insert tube main body by a rod that extends through the tow hitch insert assembly. Surrounding the rod are springs on each side, sandwiching the elongated member, which allows for oscillation of the elongated member within the tow hitch insert assembly. In another version, the elongated member is secured via a slotted plate, and the elongated member has a spheroid top wider than the slot of the slotted plate, which permits the elongated member to slide and rotate within the tow hitch insert assembly.
Insert for adapting a hitch cover to various size hitch receivers
A hitch insert set, hitch system, and method of coupling a hitch cover to a hitch receiver are generally disclosed herein. The hitch system includes a hitch receiver designed to couple to a vehicle, with the hitch receiver defining a receiver opening. The hitch system further includes a hitch cover comprising a tube portion and a cover portion that substantially covers the receiver opening. At least one hitch insert from a hitch insert set couples to the hitch receiver and the tub portion, in use, with the at least one hitch insert filling a gap between the hitch receiver and the tube portion of the hitch cover. The tube portion coupled coupled within the receiver opening such that the tube portion is at least partially retained in place by the at least one hitch insert.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TRAILER-LIGHT PLUG COVER
An apparatus that includes an elastic sleeve; an integrally formed top cover that completely (or at least substantially completely) covers one end of the elastic sleeve; an integrally formed elongated clamp feature that extends outward from across a top surface of the top cover, wherein the elongated clamp feature has a C-shaped cross section; an integrally formed elongated strap that is connected at a proximal end to an edge of top cover and that has an elastic loop formed at a distal end of the elongated strap.
COVERING AND CONTAINMENT APPARATUS
A containment apparatus for at least partially covering or containing a male trailer hitch, one or more balls attached thereto, or any portion of the vehicle's hitch assembly VHA including the female receiver for receivingly engaging the male trailer hitch. A sheet material is provided to form a conduit-like structure with opposing ends having closure mechanism's for permitting the selective and incremental opening/closing thereof.
Weight Distribution Hitch with Dampening Moment Arm
A weight distribution hitch system comprising a vehicle attachment member comprising a forward end configured to rigidly attach to a vehicle, and a rearward end extending rearwardly toward a trailer, the rearward end comprising an upper portion comprising a trailer attachment member configured to pivotally attach to a coupler of the trailer, and a lower portion configured to receive a moment bar; a moment bar having a modulus of elasticity, the moment bar comprising a moment bar forward end attached to the lower portion of the rearward end of the vehicle attachment member so as to prevent rotation about a horizontal axis, and a moment bar rearward end; a tension member comprising a top end configured to be supported by a frame member of the trailer, and a bottom end configured to support the rearward end of the moment bar; and wherein, when the tension member is in tension, it imposes an upward force on the moment bar rearward end, which, in turn, imposes a forward moment on the vehicle; and wherein the modulus of elasticity of the moment bar is low enough wherein the modulus of elasticity of the moment bar is low enough to reduce displacement of the vehicle when the vehicle and trailer are not parallel is disclosed.
TOOLING AND METHOD FOR GALVANIZING KINGPIN COUPLER
A king pin coupler assembly of a fifth wheel coupling. A coupler plate has a king pin aperture therein. A king pin is positioned to extend axially through the king pin aperture of the coupler plate. The king pin has a first portion with a neck for engaging a fifth wheel of the fifth wheel coupling, the first portion extending to a first side of the coupler plate. The king pin has a second portion on a second side of the coupler plate and welded to the coupler plate. A shielding apparatus is secured to one or both of the king pin and the coupler plate. The shielding apparatus includes a cover sealed to the first side of the coupler plate. The cover extends over the first portion of the king pin to shield the first portion of the king pin during liquid immersion of the king pin coupler assembly.
