Trailer jack tailgate protector

A trailer jack protection arrangement that includes a cushioned plastic or rubber surface in the event of contact between a trailer jack and a portion of the vehicle, such as a tailgate. The arrangement is attached to the trailer jack via the jack stem and projects above the jack handle or jack top cylinder, depending on the type of jack. The arrangement utilizes an embedded metal stamping to provide a mounting surface and extra stability for the plastic or rubber impact surfaces. The arrangement also utilizes a Teflon washer underneath it for lubricity and stability when it also turns as the jack handle turns to move the trailer up or down, on a top wind jack. The alternative design provides protection for a side wind jack using an adapter, which can have several different forms to accommodate all types of trailer jacks. The design requires installation and prevents easy removal of the invention so it is not lost or stolen.

DIRT PROTECTION COVER ARRANGEMENT, DIRT PROTECTION COVER DEVICE FOR SAID ARRANGEMENT, AND COUPLING METHOD INVOLVING SAME

A dirt protection cover arrangement with a semi-trailer (2) and a towing vehicle (3), for closing a hollow-bored king pin (21) on the semi-trailer (2) for an automatic fifth-wheel coupling, the king pin (21) being arranged on the underside (20) of the semi-trailer (2) as a counter-bearing for a fifth wheel (31) of the towing vehicle (3), a dirt protection cover device (1) being arranged such that it is adjacent to the underside (20) of the semi-trailer (2) and can rotate about the king pin (21), said dirt protection cover device including a dirt protection cover (11) for covering the borehole (22) in the king pin (21), and the dirt protection cover (11) being configured on the dirt protection cover device (1) such that, during the coupling process, it can be displaced from a base position covering the borehole (22) in the king pin (21) into a coupled position exposing the borehole. Also, a dirt protection cover device (1) for a dirt protection cover arrangement, and a coupling method involving same.

Detachable trailer jack locking assembly

Trailer theft is a widespread problem, and existing locks have failed to solve the problem for a number of reasons. Some locks require permanent modification of a trailer jack, while others are easy to break into. The present invention provides a detachable trailer jack locking assembly including a retention shell couplable to a trailer jack body. The retention shell is sized and shaped to surmount an upper end of an outer tube of the trailer jack. The retention shell also includes a slot configured to accept a handle of a lifting assembly on the trailer jack. The assembly includes an attachment point disposed on the outer tube of the trailer jack. A lock is adapted to secure the retention shell against the outer tube by coupling with the attachment point. When engaged, the handle is immobilized within the slot, thereby rendering the lifting mechanism of the trailer jack inoperable.

Housing and shield for trailer-mounted sensors

A shield housing mounts a yaw sensor onto a trailer structural element. A shield body defines a sensor cavity within a closed bottom, an open face, and a perimeter wall with a side opening. A mounting post extends from the closed bottom into the sensor cavity and is adapted to affix the sensor at a predetermined orientation in the shield body. A pair of side wings extend laterally from the perimeter wall. Each side wing has a respective groove adapted to retain a respective strap loop tensioned over the groove and the structural element. In one preferred embodiment, the perimeter wall may have a base edge, and the side wings may each have a base surface opposite the grooves. The base edge and the base surfaces may have a contoured profile configured to orient the housing in a predetermined direction on the structural element.
