A method includes inserting a wear disc into the void between the eye portion of a strut and the yoke arrangement of a chassis or an undercarriage.

CTBA BUSH AND CTBA SUSPENSION SYSTEM

A Coupled Torsion Beam Axle (CTBA) bush may include an axial stiffness control portion which forms a cross section of a bush pipe 3 in a cross-sectional structure of additionally securing a gap, the bush pipe generating a rotation against an external load so that lateral stiffness performance and lateral steer performance are enhanced together; and a front and rear stiffness control portion which forms a bush mass in an X-shaped asymmetric bridge structure, the bush mass forming the bush pipe as an external diameter and forming a bush core as an internal diameter so that handling performance and ride comfort performance are enhanced together.

Described herein is an axle assembly and method of fabrication thereof. The axle assembly includes an axle having a first geometric shape housed within an axle housing having a second geometric shape. A shock absorber is located between the axle and the axle housing. The shock absorber supports the axle within the axle housing and comprises a first material and comprises a multi-sided configuration. The first geometric shape and the second geometric shape comprising polygons.

Slotted alignment bushing

An alignment assembly for a motor vehicle includes a first bushing with a slot, the first bushing being configured to be positioned and secured to an end of a first link of a wishbone suspension assembly, and an insert that fits within the slot, the insert having a locating hole that positions a bolt within the slot for nominal caster and camber angles.

Suspension bush and suspension device

Provided are a suspension bush and a suspension device that are able to achieve both steering operability and stability of a vehicle at the time of turning. A projection portion is formed on the outer circumference of an inner cylinder. A guide is formed on the inner circumference of an outer cylinder. In the guide, a slit is formed along an extending direction that includes: a component, in a parallel direction, which runs parallel with an axial line; and a component in a circumferential direction around the axial line. The projection portion is disposed in the slit, and a threaded mechanism is formed by the projection portion and the slit.

Axle/suspension systems

An axle/suspension system (1) has an axle (5) supported from the frame of the vehicle by a pair of rigid longitudinal beams (4) pivoted to frame hangers (3). Air springs (7) and shock absorbers (8) connect between the rigid beams (4) and the frame above to control suspension movement. The axle/suspension system is particularly suited as a mid-lift axle on the tractor of a tractor-trailer vehicle. A characteristic feature is the pivotal connection (21) between each hanger (3) and beam (4), which is through a resilient bush (6) having a compliance ratiobeing a ratio of the longitudinal spring rate to the vertical spring rateof at least 10:1.

Leaf-spring suspension systems with compliant oversized pivot bushings

A slipper and/or eyed leaf-spring vehicle suspension system is provided with a compliant oversized pivot bushing and a torque rod or control arm, respectively. Each of the torque rod or control arm are provided with at least one over-sized eye bushing-housing into which the compliant oversized pivot bushing is compressed into. The compliant oversized pivot bushing has an elastomeric annulus mounted on a rigid sleeve wherein compliant oversized pivot bushing has an overall outside diameter that is greater to much greater than its width.

Multi-functional suspension bushing

A bushing for use in an axle/suspension system of a heavy-duty vehicle. A beam supports an axle for pivotal movement with a hanger of the heavy-duty vehicle at a pivot connection. A bumper is fixed to the beam and contacts an engagement member of the heavy-duty vehicle to limit the relative pivotal movement of the beam and axle in one direction. A force is applied to the pivot connection in a force application direction that is angularly spaced from horizontal and vertical planes. The pivot connection includes a bushing to connect the beam and the hanger. The bushing includes an elastomeric bushing body with at least one void for decreasing rigidity of the bushing body in a substantially vertical direction. The one void is located in the bushing body angularly spaced from the force application direction. The bushing body is substantially solid along the force application direction.
