PROTECTION BAGS AND RELATED METHODS
Protective bags having bag bodies formed by or with meshed fabrics can be used to protect potted plants from plant bugs. The protective bags are sized and shaped to protect both the plant top section and the plant root system or just the plant root system. Accessible seams or windows can be provided to access the interior of a bag for watering, feeding plant food, and/or pruning purposes. The protective bags can be sized and shaped to work with potted plants using soils or hydroponic systems.
Cover for plants and method of use
A cover for plants includes, a frame which has a rectangular top tier of rods, a rectangular bottom tier of rods, four vertical supports which connect the top tier of rods to the bottom tier of rods, and four sides. The cover further includes a side cover which is shaped and dimensioned to cover the four sides of the frame, the side cover has four sides, a top, four top corners, and a bottom. The side cover includes four corner closures disposed at the four top corners. The side cover includes a side closure, and a skirt disposed at the bottom. A top cover is shaped and dimensioned to cover the top of the side cover and the top tier of rods. A crown frame is shaped and dimensioned to fit around the top cover.
SYSTEM AND DEVICE FOR PROTECTING FRUIT CLUSTERS FROM BIRDS, SQUIRRELS, DEER AND OTHER CREATURES WHILE GROWING ALONG THE BRANCHES OF FRUIT TREES
A light-transmissive fruit protection case for installation about a cluster of fruit pieces hanging from stems along or at an end portion of a tree branch. The light-transmissive fruit protection case comprises first and second case housing portions connected about a common flexible hinge structure. The first and second case housing portions each have side, top and bottom surfaces. A plurality of air and water openings formed about the side, top and bottom surfaces of the first and second case housing portions. First and second branch access ports are formed on opposing ends of the first and second case housing portions, along its longitudinal axis, so as to allow the entry and passage of a fruit tree branch. A set of reclosable fasteners are formed on the side end portions of the first and second case housing portions to releasably lock the case in its closed configuration once arranged about a cluster of fruit hanging from the tree branch.
Tree segregation and protection system
A protective and decorative system for trees, particularly holiday or Christmas trees, which segregates portions of the tree for safety reasons, by utilization of concentric ring mechanisms and a backing section. The versatile system includes fire retardant capabilities and includes demarcations on is fitted to any size of tree for ease of installation.
APPARATUS FOR GROWING PLANTS
An apparatus for growing plants (100) is provided. The apparatus comprises at least one base member (110) having a periphery (112), at least one cover member, or wall member (120), having at least one channel (122a, 122b), and at least one intermediate filter (170) operable to be supported by the at least one cover member (120). The one or more cover members (120) are couplable to the periphery (112) of the at least one base member for providing a hollow space (140), and the at least one channel is operable to receive at least one tubular member (160, 162) supported at a distance from the at least one base member. The at least one intermediate filter is arranged for dividing the hollow space into at least two segments (172, 174). The apparatus is optionally operable to provide irrigation of one or more plants growing therein from seawater supplied to a bottom region of the apparatus.
Waterproof and UV (ultraviolet) radiation blocking protective cover
Waterproof and UV (ultraviolet) radiation blocking protective cover (1) for hanging fruit, CHARACTERIZED by a sheet (10) made of an expanded polyethylene material that blocks ultraviolet radiation (EPE-UV), whose shape is a flat geometric figure, with a main straight cut (11) running from the midpoint to the edge of the sheet and an arrangement of cuts and grooves that make up the attachment system when the cover is fitted on the fruit.
Polyethylene spunbond nonwoven date-bunch covers
Polyethylene spunbond nonwoven date-bunch covers are an urgently needed, price-competitive alternative to mesh covers made of synthetic monofilament yarn. They are the first improvement to the ideal date-bunch cover that USDA researchers theorized seventy years ago, by adding dust and mold spore exclusion, yet providing sufficient shade and vapor transmission for proper ripening. Black mold is insignificant even under close tree spacing and wet summer conditions. The lowered temperature and increased humidity inside the cover promotes pliable, smooth skin instead of dry and brittle as commonly occurs with covers made of monofilament mesh fabric. Covers made of polyethylene spunbond nonwoven fabric are lighter, less abrasive, compress easier, and thus are far more user-friendly. Ripe dates can be held on-tree longer than was ever possible before without accumulating dust or losing quality, which renders unnecessary the labor-intensive practice of multiple pickings, and saves cold storage costs.
Device for protection against terrestrial gastropods
A device for protecting an area against terrestrial gastropods includes at least one barrier that includes a base for securing the barrier to the periphery of the area to be protected, a ceiling wall connected to the base, a grid extending along and spaced apart from the ceiling wall, a space between the ceiling wall and the grid, and at least one blocking means for preventing the gastropods, of the size category targeted by the barrier, from crawling in the said space. Barriers targeting small gastropods can be integrated into barriers targeting large gastropods.
ADJUSTABLE TREE GUARD DEVICE
A guard device configured to be disposed concentrically about a generally cylindrical structure, including: a plurality of adjoined panels collectively forming an annular ring structure that is configured to be disposed concentrically about the generally cylindrical structure; an attachment mechanism disposed at one end of one or more of the plurality of adjoined panels that is configured to secure the annular ring structure about the generally cylindrical structure; and one or more adjustment mechanisms disposed along edges of the plurality of adjoined panels that are configured to adjustably couple the plurality of panels together to form the annular ring structure. Each of the adjustment mechanisms includes a slot defining detent positions disposed along an edge of one panel and a mating peg structure disposed along an opposed edge of an adjacent panel, wherein the peg structure is configured to be translated between the detent positions defined by the slot.
